I grew up in the same part of Dallas as Stevie did. I am six years his senior.
Heard a bit of his music at some of the local joints before he was a star. He used to go to a little hole the wall mexican food place in Oak Cliff and sign (autograph) napkins and menus. The owner there got to where he just threw them away.
I have all his CDs and still listen to them on occasion.
          Thanks for the memories.

      • I thought this was a metal fantasy rock video; but later found out it was a scene from Pirates of the Carribean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZnVQT_iEYo

It is music by the operatic metal band, Nightwish, overlaid on scenes from Pirates of the Carribean. Someone's been busy making a music video merging the two together.

      • Like I said going in, I am not a fan of Pirates of the Carribean, so I thought this was metal fantasy song. That being said, I felt that the video was made for the music; not the other way around. Flawless editting with a powerful metal beat. Surprised that wikepedia states that there is only one female singer: Anette Olzon, who gave a strong performance. Really can't say anything bad about the performance. The video added to the story of the song

It may have been their previous singer looking at some of the comments in the YouTube page - Tarja Turunen. Tarja has a pretty impressive set of pipes! Used to have 2-3 of their CD's.......got hooked on Scandinavian metal bands for a while.....black metal bands.....Dimmu Borgir....

          • A sad day today in rock history with the anniversary of Kieth Moon's passing.
Two British journalists wrote a scathing book about rock and in it wrote that Kieth's death was good for rock.
Pete Townshend was rightfully angered by that and wrote this song in retort.
