  • Very sad to here of the passing of Meatloaf, one of the greatest voices in rock and of the last 45 years.
As a teenager in the 70's, his music was on being played all the time. The union of him and legendary composer Jim Steinman, was the perfect match.
And it was only in April last year that Steinman passed away. Unfortunately we'll never have this musical era again.

    RIP Meatloaf.

    I'd do anything for love

Read em & weep. (Whenever I listen to this, it sounds so much like Roy Orbison)

Been listening to the live version of that in the car recorded by Dio, Butler, Iommi, and Appice - Heaven & Hell.....and then Rainbow Live in Munich.......

          • Probably like Rainbow a little more with Dio singing lead. Favortie sone from them has to be Catch the Rainbow. It features one of the most under-rated guitar players ever: Ritchie Blackmore. One of the greatest; but also a dick in the real world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9B-71eVa6M

Yes, Dio with Rainbow; rest after him were ok to weak to marginal....lots of fav song for me....Gates of Babylon, Stargazer.....yes, you only have to watch him play back then and even now to end up wondering how he does it all. Saw a documentary on him recent - lots of interview time - dysfunctional arse but no denying the talent.

I agree, the singer definitely isn't Patsy Cline.

Yes, she's got a lot more anger where it's needed, and let's it all out. I have to get some more of their CDs!

              • I'm a Skynyrd guy, through and through. Actually met drummer Artimus Pyle back in June and he was super cool. Anyway, here's one of my many faves:
