    Ed, you sure do go too a lot of concerts!

    And you seem to have a vast knowledge of music & musicians.

    I never had the chance to see The Cranberries live.

    So lucky you for seeing them as many times as you did!

    Mike, I must really come and see you guys/gals play in your band!

    Sounds like my kind of music!

      Greg,

      I play music almost every minute I am awake.

      Phila., and Tampa have two of the best radio stations on planet earth. Both 88.5. They are public radio stations. My first concert was Dionne Warwick.

      Today is my 75th. birthday. So I rode 50 miles this morning and will do an other 50 tonight on my stationary bike. Other days I do 2 15's. I will have watched close to a season of Shameless today while riding. I would dig seeing John play. Who knows.

        We just play locally as most of us are still "working stiffs" here in the Ottawa area. Maybe, after we're all retired!

          Happy Birthday Ed! A young 75, at least in behavior and musical tastes!

          I'm still partial to Locomotive Breath. Saw Tull in Guelph, Canada about 20 years ago playing in a bar. Didn't quite have the punch that the recording had, but memorable.

            Check out the Jethro Tull concert at Red Rocks June 02, 1971. Similiar to Led Zeppelin concert in Tampa June 03, 1977. I was not at either concert, so don't blame me.

            I am hoping to finally grow up after 75 years.

            My precious wife would be most grateful.

                Happy birthday Ed. My 1st concert was the Beatles in Chicago in 1964 for my 12th birthday. Don’t go to concerts anymore but have seen a number singers at Vegas shows like Cher, Elton, Brittney (twice) long stories on the 1st time) dion, Bette Miller... Last year locally in Wisconsin we saw Patti Labelle. I have over 10,000 songs on my IPod in the trainroom and office and it is always playing and I am always adding. I listen to anything including Rap, but the only music I dislike is Blue Grass. With lyrics, the music is great, can’t handle the singing!

                We were to see the cranberries a few years ago but they

                cancelled the Minneapolis shows. I have no songs of theirs that stick out as a favorite.

                  If you do not like any of them, you don't dig bluegrass. Which is cool.

                      Ed, I will check them out, I have seen the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and I have songs on the IPod for them and Alabama Shakes. I will check out the rest. Pandora and Apple are great. My son is a sound engineer by schooling and is still livid I got rid of all vinyl and went with the IPod. Portable music to me was easier and yes while I can hear a difference it wasn’t that big to me a difference. I know, idiot!

                        Tom, I enjoy exchanging thoughts with you. I sold high end audio gear for many years. Lots of tube equipment (Audio Research) ribbon speakers. I have a tri-amped Audio Research tube system with B&W speakers. Belt drive turntable, tone arm I mounted myself. I like the softer sound you get with tube equipment and vinyl. You are correct it goes no where.

                        I just left a concert you probably would have liked, even though blue grass is not your thing. Steve Martin and Martin Short at the beautiful Mahaffey Theater in St. Pete., Florida.

                        Good picking and much humor. Tom get back to me on what your opinion is of the suggested musicians. Gotta go I'm on the road. Driving in Florida requires great attention.

                          Tom, Saturday January 21st., on Austin City Limits. 1106 pm on PBS. I don't know if you get the same broadcast as I. The guests performers are EI-P and Killer Mike-better known as Run the Jewels. One of the super groups of hip hop.

                            My first concert was seeing Elton John at MSG on November 28. 1974.

                            That show was famous for having John Lennon come out for the encore and "Whatever Gets You The the Night".

                            Ed, I'm an audiophile since I was in high school.

                            My current system is a Jeff Roland Model 1 amp, PS Audio BHK pre-amp, Marantz NA 11S1 DAC and Vandersteen Quatro speakers.

                                Rick, I am very familiar with that gear. Exceptional to say the least. It is best we keep the cost of our goodies to our selves, less we be labeled crazy. Let's just say, many very nice new cars go for less.

                                I will throw this out there. Wilson-Wamm Chronsonic loudspeakers. Cost 685,000 dollars a PAIR. Maybe less on eBay.

                                In many peoples opinion, John Lennon, best rock and roll voice ever. I agree.
