  • Catskill -and- Ramapo Steel Boxcar

Funaro & Camerlengo produced the Sn3 East Broad Top's steel boxcar and I picked upa a couple from their booth earlier this year at the Springfield, MA train show. The resin material has sharp molded-in details but, of course, I needed to add some of my own touches. Instead of installing the offset grabs, I put on 'steel' ladders. I'll be adding complete brake details, too. Here's some buld shots and a photo that I took of the prototype.

Stay tuned for more! id="Comic Sans MS">id="navy">

Looking forward to the build, Russ.

BTW, I attended a great Clinic on the history of the EBT while at the MER Convention the past few days.

It looks like you're having fun, Russ. This will be interesting to follow.

I like your choice of the steel ladder, Russ. Makes a nice change over the ubiquitous grabirons.

It's been a bit since I've been here so I missed this. The car looks great! What trucks will you be using?

The trucks that I want to get are available in Sn3, the same Andrews trucks that were used on the Prototype.

Here's a final (almost) shot of the completed (almost) car. The other side has some decal problems that will require blasting them off, re-painting, and then re-lettering that part of the car (again). :erm: That will have to wait until after we move and get settled in the Spring. The trucks are Bettendorfs that I have for another car but will get Andrews for it when I get it really, REALLY completed! id="Comic Sans MS">id="navy">

Wow, Russ, all that work and no SBS photos? Nice job on a cool car.

Good looking car, Russ. Good timing - wrapping it up before the move.

                          Russ-

Will your Catskill & Ramapo be based on the EBT or some other eastern narrow guage road?

Very nice car, Russ. I suppose we can expect a few more posts with the weathering?
