That is a great looking sketch, I cant wait to see the buildup. Im guessing two days max! I also noticed in the YouTube preview of the DVD that you were painting some of the seawater. Now Im really jazzed!! I have drooled over the color of your waves and seawater since I first saw them here. If you explain only that, the DVD will be priceless to me. Again, Im so excited to learn things like color from an artists perspective. I hope the jet bringing my DVD to Calif catches a huge tailwind!!! JD.

Troels, being away for a week I was sure there would be another fine building to enjoy. But two...
Also, I came back from Netherlands with quite a few nice looking tubes of Old Holland: thanks! More on the trip later in due place.

That customer looks like a city dude, I'd expect the locals to be wearing long pants and plaid wool jackets.

Troels .... you make me smile. I would look rather dapper galavanting through the woods looking for that beastly moose.
I am more of a plaid shirt, camoflauge coat, jeans and rubber boots kind of woodsman. But this is make believe.
I am proud to be the owner of such a fine shop. Thank you.

Well Tom, the guy in front of the store isn't supposed to be you... just a customer. You are supposedly out in the woods somewhere, leaving the shop in the hands of your apprentice. So you can wear what you like... the customer is one of those who don't actually hunt, but dress like a clichee of the tweedy hunter type.

Hmm Jim, I'm just passing a very early morning waiting for the painkillers to kick in before going to the studio for a day at the easel. No weekend off this time! But I'll continue with paper clapboard tonight...

Hmmm... when I was about to make a very favorable comment of the sketch I sse that the building is half way done. I hope for the sake of the rabbits, deer and not atleast for law and order that the gun shop is not located too close to any of the towns water holes... A very nicely designed building!

We have been watching the PBS series on Prohibition in the US.
It reminded me that Troels villages, with the bars, must have been of a time after Dec.5, 1933 when the 18th Amendment was repealed.
It is just wonderful how this layout fits into life's history.
