Thanks for all of the comments (and even PaulS poked his head in). I loved hearing your rememberances and thoughts about both our wonderful late great friends. It is also fun seeing some older build still being appreciated. Glad to read them all.

A nice model that brings up fond memories of two of the Forum's key members and on line friends.

A creative model that brings back fond memories, in my case memories of Don Reed, who I knew through our NMRA Division. Don was one of our standout model makers and go-getter. We had some good conversations, which were too brief and too infrequent.

Good signage, Paul, and thank you Rich for posting.

    Rich,

It certainly has held up well for 15 years. And is sort of a group effort with you providing a wonderful structure that Don Reed and I could compliment with our little bits, and also honor Mike who is indeed much missed ...

Ultimately the plan is for Chambers Machine to have a place overlooking the waterfront on my rebuild of the Atlantic & White Mountain Ry ....

Thanks for sharing Rich and do hope to be able to catch up in person one of these days soon !

    All the best,

Oldie but goodie. I had the pleasure of meeting Don Reed at his club's layout in Pittsburgh.

Just for fun I'm just gonna poke this old thread alive. Recently I got this email from an old friend, PaulS with these photos...

Not bad for a 15 year old build. PaulS added the signage. As a side note the desk on the dock was built by the late AVRR-PA (Don Reed, Pittsburgh, PA).

Thanks George and Matthew I appreciate any and all pats on the back I can get though I'm starting to get a bit round shouldered

Karl the siding wall door comes from a Bar Mills 1-Kit (back in June I did a tutorial of a small structure using one of these kits - http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/t...?TOPIC_ID=9092). There pretty handy to have in the bin. The stucco is DecoArt Sandstone applied with a palette knife. It gives the Sandstone a different texture.

Your quite welcome. Good work desevres to be recognized. I think you did a great job on that structure. Are the doors on the siding wall from Rusty Stumps? Thanks for the info on the vent. Also I should have asked earlier what did u use for your stucco? Just curious as it looks good.

Wow, Rich. Don't spend too much time looking for mistakes. I really like your stone/brickwork. I think too often, stone work is overdone and looks kind of caricaturish, but yours is very natural and goes well with the wood weathering.
