    Cinnamon Valley Railway

    Hi! I would like to present a layout I'm about to start building. It will be built in my 17'4" x 12' garage. I'm a little afraid to start to big (done that before ) so I will try to build the layout in smaller portions instead (12' x 9'). The first portion will be built on 4 sections. It will be a small mining town with som street running and an engine terminal. I have no specific prototype for this RR but the locale for it is Northern California. The main revenues for the RR are gold mining and gigant sequoia lumbering. The name of the RR will be Cinnamon Valley Railway. Please, if you would like to, give me some feedback about the plan and the whole concept.

    The engine terminal area I'm not completely satisfied with yet, thinking about reworking that.

      And here are two structures I have built before and that I will be using on the new layout.



      Some color and weathering and this store are ready to go.



      This ore bin needs some loading chutes and a head shaft building.

          Thanks Martin! I teared the old one out because I realized it was to big for me, a lot of houses and scenery to be built and I wasn't to happy with the trackplan either. This new one I belive will be more manageable and all track (in the first stage) is on one level.

                looks pretty good, its nice to see you've left space to add an expansion, that way you can add a bit should you feel you want too, but it looks like you got a good mix of rail-linked companys

                my only comment would be (IMHO) to add a cross over near the top, and some extra points, this would give you and extra run around loop let, me make the changes on paint to show you what i mean. back in a tick

                    this is what i thought off



                    im not sure if that would start to cramp the track in the space you have. but it gives you an extra loop and means you could if you wanted too leave a few cars by the water/coal and sand units etc just an idea feel free to hit me with a stick and say "no down boy" hehe

                      Andy thank you for your input about the improvements. I have totally reworked the loco facility area now. But I will incorporate your idea about a cross. Will present the new plan later. I have started to work on the benchwork today.

                          I like what your are going to be modeling Patrik....I think you have a lot of structures packed into your apace. It will give you a lot of opportunities to add detail to your scenes....I'll be following along...tom

                            Patrik, the pictures of your previous layout and two buildings look very promising. This should be an interesting travel to follow.

                              Tnx guys!

                              Have been working on the first section today, the one with the turntable. The measures 5' x 28" and 6" high. Reused som old plywood, will buy new for the other three sections. I will also put a background made of masonite.
