John,
Nice choice on the engine. They are very good runners and you should have lot's of fun with it.
I look forward to seeing the interchange cars in a different railroad environment for you this year while you build your next layout.
I have almost chosen my car but I'll make my final decision soon.

Here is what I'll be sending along.
It is my FIRST rolling stock kit.
Here she is spotted at Marshall's Express having just been loaded with museum pieces.
It is a Branchline Yardmaster series that I juiced up a little bit(tried to, anyway).
The story is... it's an ex NYC RN #15702 that the Red Water Ry. picked up for cheap money. They assigned new reporting marks, put on a new roof walk and and sent her into service. Somehow she gets into the NH system and just...disappears! Who knows where she will wind up in her travels, but the RWRy hopes she gets back someday in serviceable condition.
I think this is gonna be fun!!

Hi Ron. Welcome to the interchange. The first year I did this I sent a Yardmaster series car around and it held up just fine. So I don't think you should have any problems with that car at all. If you do there are some pretty good shops on each railroad that can take care of issues.
The sign above your box car cracks me up. I don't know if I would want "Tards" working on my air conditioning....

Ron - do you expect the museum pieces to come back to you? I don't know about the other railroads, but here along the HKVRR we have quite a few shady characters.
John - are you sending the engine out also? Pretty please!
I've got the car I'll be sending picked out. Because of my childhood spent along the Chicago & Northwestern tracks in suburban Chicago I've always been partial to C&NW rolling stock and locos so this year's car is a C&NW 40' boxcar. I will try to get a picture of it up in a few days.

Before you send out any Museum Pieces, you should know about Preacher and Turtle, who seem to have an affinity for Dave's HKVRR. If you don't, PM me and I'll explain. They're dangerous, and last I heard, had busted out of the slam!

As far as the museum pieces, well there is always insurance, right? Like I said the car slipped into the New Haven System and vanished. Bill what kind of RR are you running anyway?
I'm sure the shops along the way way will keep #157 rolling, after all they want that old clunker off their road, can you imagine being responsible for Museum Pieces?
All kidding aside, I have no qualms that the car will be just fine.

Your the first one to get a rise outta that, go here; http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/t...94&whichpage=2 if you want the dope on that little business. There is absolutely NO malice intended.
Also, there was thread posted by someone else that built that kit and and few versions were posted.
Now that I think of it that could be a challenge, taking a cheap run of the mill kit and making it "Special"
WHoa! talk about getting off track...

Hey Ron I beleive that the Blue springs RR down town area has a place to show off them museum peices ,but not sure of the crowd it my attrack , I guess it depends on what the value is and what kind of articafacts your sending out. You may want to have armed guards on stand by to watch the unloading and re loading of you shippment. There are some shadey place out there.
Dont worry your car is in good hands,, I sent out a car last yr and it came back with new wheels, couplers and a bill-lol
and some guy hanging out getting a free ride.

I'll check the manifests and see if I can find when the car went missing. I'm betting it was before coming on the NH system (I also bet it was NYC or the B&A. They loose stuff all the time) or if it even showed up on the NH.

This is already too much fun and we haven't even licked a stamp yet!![:-sly]
Bill,
That would have been June of 1956. Maybe the NYC wanted it back, what with the new roof-walk and all. LOL

Here's the car I'll be sending out in this year's interchange.
In the interest of full disclosure, and so you can take the nessecary precautions (i.e. hide the women, etc.) and most importantly alert the local law enforcement officials of a possible crime spree coming to your area, it appears that Turtle & Preacher will be riding the rails again this year. [:-censored]
Officer Jones is on the scene, not to keep the boys off the car...but to make sure they stay on. Seems the locals need a break from their shenanigans!!!
Also traveling with the boys will be their pet dog Spot and a Maine black bear cub they sort of adopted while wandering the woods in the valley. Forgive the bluriness of this picture, but our intrepid photographer was in a hurry to get out of the way. The reason why will become apparent in the last picture.
Of course, momma bear doesn't appear to happy about the situation.
