    2-6-2 Side tank project

    Well, work has stopped on the above build whilst I thaw out the Mrs[:-angel].Due to the weather conditions,her work sent all staff home early - it took her over 2 hours to get out of a gridlocked Leeds and just 30 minutes to drive the remaining 12 miles down the motorway.

    Below are 2 photos of work in progress.....

    1st up, over view of the build.



    Secondly, side view of loco showing how the modified Backwoods Miniatures 2-8-0 Conversion oil bunker fits - room enough under there for a trailing truck. Bunker needs tidying up with some frame work where the bunker floor joins up to the loco.

      From what I see, you are fitting the 2-8-0 saddletank conversion kit over the Bachmann Mogul? That is an interesting concept and one that I never thought of. Looking forward to seeing more.

        No, the Side tanks are cut out from a Mogul tender.

        The BM tanks will fit, but they're destined for a BLI c16!

          Neat build, I havent played with loco bashing for sometime. I know you saw the other tank build posted by Alan. Are you improving on pickups or ?

            this is neat idea.

            but it dose make me wonder if the backwoods tanks could be fitted to other locos

            i look forward to seeing this come out
