  • Roland,

Nice to seeing you working on the layout again. As for last photo, looks like you just had a flash flood and only by the grace of God the track is still in place.

That is going to be another great scene on your layout once completed.

        • Thanks for checking in and commenting. As far as the trestle goes, I can see it in my mind which is all I need right now. I am working on a Carolina Craftsman kit of a critter shed. Changing several things as usual to make it fit in the space I have and show the interior. Not enough to show yet, but I can see it finished.

Larry, let me know when you would be in the area and we will work out something. Same goes for anyone else.

          • I have enough done to show on the critter shed. The engine is the first one I bought and does not run very well so I thought it would fit well in the shed. This is the way I usually build, put up 2 walls and a little floor then start detailing. When I get everything in I want I add the next wall and do the same thing. The big hole in the side wall is for the addition in the kit. They allowed for no interior and even included black paper in the kit to block out seeing inside. Anyway the addition will be a saw fillers area for the sawmill. More as I slowly move along.

Fine start on the kit. I'll be interested in what you think of the kit. Have you done one of theirs before?

This engine shed is going to be a showstopper.. I really like what you build and everything always looks great. Wish my models looked as good as yours. Nice weathering on the walls.

                    • Not familiar with those kits but you are making it look real nice.
That engine may not run real good but sure does look good.

                          • Thank you all again. The positive comments push me to do the best I can.

Mike, I was lucky and got the kit for half price at a show. As far as it goes the kit is very nice. Everything fits nicely. It is the first kit from them I have built. I don't buy many kits because I end up changing so much that it is easier to scratch what I want. That said, I did get a kit for the Grand Central Gold Mine at the same show and do not plan on changing anything.

                            • Very nice work indeed Roland; I'm glad to see you were able to get the railroad moved to your new diggs, and have picked right up and kept doing such a fine job. Can't wait to see the trestle.
