  • This is a photo of a small shed I build about 20 years ago. I have learned a bit since then so I took it off the layout and did a little updating.

    Thanks for looking. Roland

          • Thank you for the comments. Always appreciated.

Rick, I could not find an old picture of the shed. Basically I had to clean all the dust off it, add some better coloring and shadows, and turned it 180 degrees so the scaffolding showed better. I also rearranged the details and added a few more. It is the only building I kept from my first layout.

            • This morning I was standing on a chair to reach over the layout and thought it would be a nice drone picture. It shows all I have completed in the past 14 years an area 12x6. I still have a 2x11 section to finish. At the pace I work, I will either be 80 or dead before I finish.

                • Roland,

Your layout is beautiful. Goes to show that excellence does not come from being in a hurry.

                  • Roland 80 is just a number.

I'm sure you see the completion on this wonderful RR.

Looking forward to the 2x11 start.

                    • Roland, nice overall view of the layout.

I'm counting on you to do an extension when you're 90.

                      • Roland that is one beautiful layout; actually it's more of a "work of art". Thanks for the photo; it's an inspiration to the rest of us.

                        • Great drone picture Roland. Having seen your layout in person the pictures are a small glimpse of the quality of the craftsmanship on your layout.

                          • Thank you all for the wonderful comments. They make me try to improve with each model I build.

I'm glad you all think I will make it to 80. I hope you are right. When I retired from masonry 11 years ago there were 3 others who retired around the same time. Within 2 years I was the only one still alive.

                            • I found another building that I had built a long time ago and tucked away in the corner of the closet. It is a small shed that I think was based on a Tom Yorke plan. I made it smaller and It has no back, just cardboard to keep light for coming through. I found a place near the sawmill where it can put it against the wall.

All it needed was a little dusting.

                              Thanks for looking. Roland
