      • Finished the rollers tonight by adding the walk planks and pulley. I had to add temporary feet as the pulley will be partly below floor height. Working on the tracks the carriage rides on but not far along enough for a picture yet.

          • Apart from the exquisite work on the metal fittings, I must say I love the way you color your wood. It really looks like what we see in pictures of old sawmills still in use.

What a beautiful job on that piece. Your casting detail is a perfect color along with your wood.

                      • Thank you all once again for the positive comments. It's nice to know I'm on the right track . Here is a shot of the rails the carriage rides on. I didn't order this kit so I had to make it up following the pictures. The pulleys are some HO stuff with every other spoke removed. The drive wheel? is a cut up machine screw, pillow blocks from plastic. Nothing is glued yet. Just set in to see how it will look.

                          • Just an update on progress with the sawmill. Using all the space I have available this is the floor I was able to come up with. I am now putting down the planking.

I still have to build the saw and order the edger from SW. Then I can start adding other details .

                            • I should have said the building is 25 inches long and 10 inches at it's widest point. Yes those are photos of Marty Jones' sawmill under the glass. If mine comes out half as good I will be happy.

That is just an awesome start. With your workmanship I'm sure it will be another excellent build.
