Me it's my Friday so my last day to work this week. But there is work to be done at home.

And hopefully some time at the bench this weekend.

Weather is still chilly in Toms River but the outlook for the weekend is good. Let's hope Spring is making a comeback.

Time to look over the forum.

    Everyone have a great day!!!!

    Good Morning Jerry,

Its Friday for my wife, she has off tomorrow to take me to the Dr.

I am painting the Hopper project, but having trouble with the yellow paint (D&H). It just does not cover. I tried Floquil and Pollyscale, and the Polly is just a bit better, but both require a few coats. The Floquil (brush) does not like more than one coat. The paint is maybe 2 years old, but was not opened.

Any Ideas? Oh I used a light gray spray primer on a paint free plastic surface.

    Have a great day!

Good morning, Jerry, Jeff and crew. It’s Saturday for me - I’m retired.

My MRRing has been confined to administrative club projects. Maybe I can get to the workbench in a day or two.

      Have a good day.

From 'Early in the West', . .Things are looking up in Portlandland. Our weather has hit a warm trend and I may even get our Spring tilling done this coming weekend. Lessee, son-in-law Tim and I left at this time (5:30am) yesterday for another 40-miler on our bikes. We survived the infamous 'staircase' (which reminded me of the Lewiston Grade in Idaho) climbing out of Leland canyon. This morning, we have a contractor coming to begin work on a new driveway and parking area. Beyond that, it's water aerobics and therapy at a local hospital pool. Hope everyone is keeping up with their daily grind and enjoying their favorite coffee! . .And yes, that is a pun!

          Good morning folks

It was 51 F when I headed out this morning. Our high will be 65 F.

My daughter was selected for a group called the Challengers for her middle school. The Challengers is a group of about 50 students. They are selected based on their grades, community service, school activities, and outside of school activities. They also have to complete an application and an essay. As a reward for being selected she will be taking a two day trip to Williamsburg, VA. This will also include a day at Busch Gardens. This is something that she has wanted since she heard about it in the fourth grade. Needless to say we are very proud of her.

My son passed his Boy Scout Board of Review for First Class Scout on Monday night. He had advanced three ranks since crossing over in April of 2009. He is halfway to Eagle, but that is a long road.

Last night since my wife had to work at the museum I had to substitute for her at the Wolf Den meeting.

Tonight my daughter has volleyball practice. On Sunday she has a tournament at Albright College in Reading, PA. I am going to have to leave work early today to take care of a leaky tire on my van so there goes the hobby budget for the next couple of weeks.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Mooooorning Crew from the great state of TX. Sun's up, temp is up, and I'm up; what a great day. Working on my second cup of coffee. I'm finishing up a diorama of SWSM, tool shed and waiting for the tractor repair shop to arrive. Life is good. Have a blessed day.

Good morning all. Cool and overcast in the Denver area after the snow yesterday afternoon.

Jerry, interesting issue. I suspect that you have allowed enough time for the first coat of paint to dry prior to attempting to apply the second coat. The only time I have seen issues like what you describe are where I did not allow enough time for drying between paint coats. Don't know if you live close to a LHS, but maybe a spray can of paint if you don't have an airbrush? To be truthful, I'm stumped, so it will be interesting to hear what you may figure out what the issue is/was.

Going to try to get some work done on the structure for the MikeC challenge today. Hope to get in a couple of hours at the bench.

Well, going to grab another cup of coffee and take a stroll through the 'topics since last visit' so have a great day all.

Temp here in MI is in the mid 40s, there has been wave after wave of thunder, lightning and heavy rain since daybreak, if not before. Viewing the forecast and radar map would indicate that will continue for some time. Things are pretty well saturated and we really don't need any more rain, but we don't have much control in it.

I guess I'll take a chance on some modeling today after getting fed and all the morning details aside.

I hope all have a good day.

Rainy and cool this morning. Tomorrow's supposed to be nasty, hot and humid, but fortunately getting nice for the weekend. lately I've been mulling over scenery topology for my back corner. I'm definitely of the "think too much before doing" school when it comes to scenery.

The Floquil you use nowadays takes quite a bit longer to dry. Maybe you need to wait longer between coats? What seems to be the problem? I personally don't like the way it brushes. It does airbrush pretty good though. I find airbrushing is the only way to go with yellow paints. If you want a good bright yellow, undercoat with a white or silver primer. Grey primer will give you a darker yellow. The old Floquil used to brush really good and was very self leveling.

                    Regards, Vic Bitleris

                      Good Thursday Morning Everyone.

53 under cloudy sky's while the high for today is 78. They say T-storms for late this afternoon into early Friday. But the weekend is nice.

Thanks for opening Jerry and I'll have a coffee to jump start my day.

Have some garden work to do and till up the other one for the tomato plants since the frost danger is almost done.

Mt RMC was in the mailbox when I walked down to get the mail last evening so I have fresh reading material for awhile.

Time for another coffee and look over the forum. Have a good day and God Bless.

Good morning all. It's a beautiful day here in northern Maine. Sunshine and 60's.

Not much modeling going on the past few days. I've just been dubbing around doing some scenicking in a corner of the layout. Dirt/gravel road which in my mind will be a little used back road between Dougtown and Maeville.

Outside of that I've just been watching the grass grow figuring I'll have to mow the lawn on Saturday.

                          Have a great day,

                            Good Morning All!

Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes on this overcast Thursday.Modeling wise yesterday I spent the afternoon studying another track plan.I hope to get some railfanning in this evening so,no modeling is planned..

When I hand brush a model I allow 24-36 hours between coats. This gives the first coat time to dry.

I shall have a cup and look over da forum.

                            Have a good'un!
