  • Some new steam for Sweethome Chicago

While getting the layout ready for Barrow in Furness show over the Easter weekend, I had a bit of time to paint and soundchip a few brass locos that I've picked up over the last couple of years

    First up is a Japanese brass model of a B&O B18d 4-6-0

Next up is an Alco Models NYC B11L 0-6-0

Last up is another Alco Models, an NYC G46h 2-8-0

I still have a Sunset NYC 4-6-2 to bash about but that one will have to wait.

Nice locos New iron horses are always nice to see

Have you been doing stuff on the layout as well or are you concentrating on locomotives and rolling stock?
Built a waterfront HO layout in Ireland http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=22161 but now making a start in On30 in Australia http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=52273

Steamers! You're a good man, Mr. Grant! Steamers shows your very obvious class and regard for the finer things in life! And brass at that!

Gotta love a decent stable of steamers on one's pike! Not that there's anything wrong with diesels. Diesels are fine machines, also!
I live in my own little world, but it\'s OK--they know me here!

Jon, you've been quiet for a while. It's good to see you back! How's the layout coming along?

What work I have been doing has been painly with the exhibition side of things, making it easier to erect and dismantle at shows, and with the lighting gantry.

That said, I'm well on the way with the other layout, Sweethome Alabama, and am about to start the scenics.

The layout is currently dismantled to goto a show in the UK this weekend, but I hope to get some video footage taken next week - possibly showing the locos on caboose hops.

                    Jon,

Very nice steam engines. How do you like the alco models? I have heard mixed feelings on how they run.

The 0-6-0 runs well, the 2-8-0 has slipping gear problems and runs like crap. I have a couple of NWSL gearboxes with idler gears that I hope will cure the poor running.
