  • My stepson is off to buschgardens in VA celticfyre

My stepson Damein is off to the big time Irish step dancer for the Drake school. He is a world champ since he was 6 yrs old . Buschgardens in Williamsburg Virginia called him to be part of there show for the next 7 months ,They built a new theater called The Abbey Stone and will have a Celtic dance and show there . the pay is awesome ,I hope he can save it and come home and buy a newer car. I spent the whole week replacing everything I can. Its all new ,Rebuilt the motor, electrical and tranny. He got ripped when he got the car. A mazda 626 1997 which is basicly a ford probe. The internet is great for planning ,got a map for him that will get he right the door step of his apartment in Virginia with photos ,planned all the stops and rest points ,11 hours @ 70 mph. and 76 $ in fuel and any short cuts ,plus maps of the area while he is there. I will post a video when Buschgardens has it ready .

He loves to show off the train room to all his friends So I hope to get a lot done before he comes home.

John, I haven’t been to Busch Gardens for a couple years. I guess I need to go up there and see the show. You need to come along with your stepson and get a job working on the train at Busch Gardens.

How cool is that, John? I spent 10 years doing Irish step dancing as an adult (I started at 35). Not championship caliber, of course, but sufficient to collect a wall full of trophies and medals. It was great fun, great exercise, and a great excuse to get together after the feis with all the other competitors from the various dance schools to have a pint or two or three.

Speaking of Irish, number one son, James Michael Flanigan, celebrates his 40th birthday, on Wednesday, yep, St. Patrick's Day.

          Regards,

            Happy b-day green man......

Great day to be irish and having a birthday also ,"Luck of the Irish" Im only 7% irish Jenny is about 60% .

thats me boy" wow that really cool steve .I myself cant do it but he can ,he also placed 28th in Ireland for the worlds in 2006 , his mom [Jenny} was a teacher for irish step dance and the two girls, but they stopped, Damein kept it alive,. the stress of him getting to BuschGardens in Virginia is over , I almost drove up today cause the code lite for the transmission came on and the car would not go just as he pulled into the parking lot of AAmco ,they reset the codes and sent him back out ,he just made it there 2 hours ago. A nice quite house for a while. i going to pass out 5 days of crazyness, made a video, put it on youtube and bam he got the job.

here is the demo video i made in 2 hours edit, convert to mpg and sound. it will be removed in 3 days because the drake school wants it off so no one can steel the step.

              Awww, John,

I'm just so happy for Damein. Glad he made it to VA OK. Maybe he'll be the next "Poobah" of something like "River Dance" or "Lord of the Dance." (Nicer than Flately, I hope.) Tell him to be careful, though, the constant pounding of Irish dancing, can have, at least in my case, detriments to the tootsies later on in life.[:-headache]

'Course, all that having been said, I'm looking much more forward to the next train room and what I can do with it. I mean, trains vs. dancing?

              Catch ya later,

              Steve Flanigan
