The diorama is charming, Karl.

Concerning the trees, I'd say I prefer the caspia like ones, but would suggest more foliage if you haven't yet exhausted the caspia source.

Excellent model.

I think your choice of yellow is great.

Yellow is good for models as the colour is bright to begin with.

Often our train rooms are pretty dark compared to outdoors so the yellow allows details to be seen.

It weathers nicely as well. Your finished colour looks very nice.
