Okay Peter, the original dinner and a followup the next day. That platefull was actually bigger than the original!! I would have had more by now but we took everything to my daughter's for the get together and we thought it safer to leave it there rather than have it right under our noses at home. But since my daughter lives just around the corner from us, we were back at the trough the very next day!![:-bigeyes2]

We were actually there again on Saturday after we all went out and cut our Christmas trees but this time Philly had cooked a ham![^]
Look out for #1, but don\'t step in #2!

The problem with visiting someone else's house for Thanksgiving every year is that we do not get any extra Turkey to take home. I love it (but my wife's not fond of turkey, and that's -a lot of meat- for 2 people, one of whom doesn't like it...) My favorite is open-faced sandwiches with provolone or smoked swiss and horseradish sauce. I also like making turkey vegetable soup from the carcass.

The original dinner on Thursday. Lunch and Dinner Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and today. (Turkey Salad for lunch, full plates of turkey and left-over veggies for supper.) Today we made a huge pot of turkey soup. The good news is that lunch and supper tomorrow should finish it off! (We will freeze the soup to use later this winter.)

You guys sound lucky to me. The whole family was here on Thanksgiving day and when they left most everything went with them. We had one extra meal and that was it.[:-grumpy]

Julie told me that we are making extra this year due to the fact of less than enough leftovers. That plan didn't work out to well.

A big fat 0.. Went to sisters and they fed 24 people. Nothing left to take home :erm: I'll go out this week and buy a turkey to cook for us.

Well... there was the usual gluttonous feast on Thanksgiving Day. Friday morning, after holding out enough meat for a couple of meals, I got out the Food Saver and bagged six (quart sized) bags of turkey and put them in the freezer out in the garage. Then for a quick meal Friday evening, we had turkey sandwiches. Last evening we got out all of the left-overs from Thursday and had a turkey dinner with dressing, potatoes and gravy, corn casserole, etc. all over again. There's still enough left over that we'll get one more meal Wednesday evening when our granddaughter is here. And that should finish it all off - except the six bags in the freezer. I'll use those to make sandwiches for my lunches in the weeks to come.

Thanksgiving dinner, left over turkey Friday, Saturday. I love Turkey sandwiches with swiss cheese with spicy brown mustard on rye bread. We had lots of turkey leftovers as nobody wanted to take any home with them. Next big turkey is Christmas.

On T-day my wife and I had her baby back ribs with homemade bbq sauce. It was just the two of us. On Sunday, we had ham, etc. with our oldest daughter and her family. Sent a large platter home for their son who had to work and wound up with very little leftovers. We didn't have turkey this year because I'm taking blood thinners and the dark meat dilutes the effect. I'm really looking forward to next year.

That's it. I can't fight it off anymore. I had turkey again last night and tonight I'm on my own and guess what ... looks like a HUGE turkey sandwich, with cranberry sauce and a sweet potato. One bird and a lot of wonderful meals .... Nothing but memories after tonight.
