    Good Thursday Morning (I'm pretty sure)

    Good morning all - let's see if I can get this right today...I'm pretty sure it's Thursday since I'm headed to the golf course today. We have one more nice day today - 70's and sunny - before the rain arrives.

    To get myself stoked up for my golf outing we have steak and eggs on the menu with some honeydew melon, sausage, bacon, toast and home fries. A variety of cereals and muffins for those of you looking for something a little lighter. Grap a cup of coffee and we'll have your order ready in a few minutes.

    My Intermountain C&NW FP-9's arrived yesterday. They seem to have the same features as the Proto 2000's. Maybe Atlas made them for Intermountain. I don't know, but they run well and look great. I think I'm done buying locos for a while since I have just about as many locos as I do rolling stock. Guess I'll have to start getting something for all these locos to haul.

    Getting ready to put a small pond into the layout. What does everybody use to model water.

    The pond will have a small stream running into it.

    Good Thursday Morning Everybody.

    Its 63 under cloudy/foggy skys heading to a sunny high of 75. Yesterdays wild weather has passed and the wife and I can climb out of the bunker. One has to love it when severe thunder storms with winds of excess of 70 mph form over the county in which you live. While watching this line of boomers move to the southeast of home my wife spotted a funnel cloud. I tried to take a cell phone picture of it and post it on the forum, but it was to far away for the phone. :erm: My son called from work and said the sirens were going off in town, but thankfully nothing happened. We had a series of these storms move through the area all afternoon into the evening. Just a typical late spring day in Southeast Ohio. The rain gauge had 3" of much needed rain in it.

    Since the ground is nice and soft I'll pull some weeds in the garden, and finish planting the blackberry canes. Thanks for the steak and eggs Dave, they hit the spot. Have a good time spanking the old Spalding, and don't hit to many worm burners. Time for another coffee and look over the forum. Have a good day everybody and God Bless.

      Good Morning Crew,

      It’s a rainy day in Central NJ, and in the 60’s. We are supposed to get a good bit of rain this week, and hopefully be clear by the weekend.

      Today is a work day, and maybe tonight I will spend some time in the MR room. I stopped by my model RR club last night, the JV, and dripped off some cleaned and repaired cars, and picked up another batch. I also stopped off at the local home improvement store, and bought a pair of crimper’s and ends for my Loconet cables, on my way to the club.

      So far work is going well, and its good to be back in “the groove” again.

      So far, no water yet on my MRR.

        No MRRing news to report from my basement. I am still stalled on my caboose project until I get more #80 drill bits. Perhaps I will do that, tomorrow. I hate to start another project without finishing this one, first....especially since I am so close to finishing.

        But, I am making a list of the things I will be looking for at the national train show in Hartford. Primarily DCC related items, such as decoders and circuits.

            Good morning crew and thanks Dave for opening. High of 70 today but it is to be warm on the weekend. Looks like we may have another cool summer - same as last year. [:-censored]. They talk of global warming but it sure isn't happening here.Have a great day.

              Good morning folks

              It was 61 F and raining again as I headed out this morning. High today will be 76F with more rain. We have a good chance of rain through Sunday night. We are currently 3 inches over our normal June rainfall but we are still in deficient for the year. I am not sure how because it seems like it has been raining all Spring.

              I visit the forum yesterday but did not get a chance to post. It seemed like every time I tried something came up. Overall yesterday was uneventful. My son’s baseball game was called off because of rain. The one event that did happen, is we found out my son will need braces. Given all the insurance paperwork and stuff it will most like be September before he gets them. I had to run my daughter out last night so she could pick-up a birthday gift for one of her friends who is having a party on Friday.

              Tonight my daughter is supposed to have a softball game. Right now it does not look likely. I still need to get glue so I can finish the boxcar sitting on the workbench.

                It really is Thursday.

                Man, we have had some scorchers down here lately. Temps around 98 with the humidity around 85%. Heat index around 105. Boy, that is sweltering. I feel for the guys working out in that heat.

                Still working on my stripwood storage 'thingee', for lack of a better word. Seems like every time I do something to it, I think of a better way. Taking pictures as I go just in case someone may want a look see.

                  Good morning crew. We still have wet weather here in Hampton Roads and it’s getting warmer. We were up in Northern Virginia attending my granddaughter’s high school graduation yesterday.

                  I hope to find a window between the showers and get a bike ride in, then maybe some bench time this afternoon. My eight year old granddaughter is having a swim meet in Williamsburg tonight, so I guess we’ll be up there for that.

                    Hazy sun and warmer temps on tap here after a day of rain yesterday. Our garden is nice and wet and the warmth the next couple of days should promote some growth.

                    Headed out shortly to put some weed and feed on my mother's lawn and run some errands for her.

                      A quick good morning, guys. We're heading out in the boat for a long ride this morning before it gets too hot. Yesterday was awful with the heat and high humidity - and today is forecast to be even worse. In fact, here it is, not even 8:30 yet and the temp is already 81! [:-hot]

                      Not much else to report. The last of our guests will be leaving tomorrow morning - and then it will be time to get the house back in order and a ton of laundry to get done over the weekend.

                        Good morning from the rainy Jersey Highlands. After a two-day respite, it looks like we are back in the cloudy/rainy weather pattern that we have 'enjoyed' the past three weeks. Once again, it will not get out of the 60's today.

                        Since I knew that the past two days would be our only dry ones for a while, I put in long hours in the yard. As a result, I didn't have much energy left in the evening to do much except read.

                        I might head over to MRPO this afternoon. It is the first day of their four-day 'beginning of summer sale'.

                              Morning Crew. Thanks for the great breakfast Dave. Very filling!

                              As I have the next 3 days off, I'm going down to the layout to check out the paperwork and way bill situation on my layout for this Saturday's ops session. I have a few 'new' cars to get way billed. Those three tankers will be put into revenue service and I have to get a car card and waybill done for the interchange car I have from the interchange group on this forum. Then- yard work.
