Sound Decoder for Bachmann Gas Mech

Lately, i have been thinking about having a stab at sound with my dcc system (NCE).

I though i start off simple, and use my bachmann gas mechanical loco.

Has anyone put sound in this loco?

I installed sound in one of these a while back with a (large by todays standards) Sountraxx goose decoder. Used the smallest speaker behind the front grill with some additional tweaks. Should be an easy slam dunk today with a LokSound Micro. I have not seen the newer DCC equipped davenports, but I suppose a sound-bug could also be an option. When I install any DCC into Bachmann equipment, I always strip out all the caps and coils and pcbs and wire in directly. Easier, cleaner, decoders are happier, and usually provides more room.







Since taking the photos, I did seal the back of the speaker enclosure...this was one of my first and I was at the bottom of the learning curve.
