  • For the Love of Porters!

OK, I am getting over a bug and had the workbench loaded down with my On30 Porters in various stages of completion, and it was lots of fun just working on these simple, smooth-running models. So I was inspired to pen this gritty little ditty:

    Lay Off Of My 0-4-2's

(To the tune "Blue Suede Shoes" - Apologies to Elvis Presley, but he would approve)

You can cut all my rails

    Pull all my pins

Water down my paint until its runny and thin.

You can do anything that you wanna do,

But uh-uh honey, lay off of them Porters,

    Don't you - mess with my O-4-2s...

You can do anything, but lay off of my O-4-2s.

You can play with my Shay,

    run it into the ground.

Run my railtruck around and around.

    You can smoke my decoders,

    my DCC too,

But uh-uh honey, lay off of my Porters,

    Don't you - mess with my O-4-2s...

You can do anything, but lay off of my O-4-2s.

    0-4-0's and 0-4-2s,

    0-4-0's and 0-4-2s,

    0-4-0's and 0-4-2s,

You can do anything, but lay off of my O-4-2s.id="blue">

Better get your blue suede 0-4-0's soon, as word has it on the On30Conspiracy Yahoo Group that Bachmann is no longer cataloging them. Out of production, or waiting for new versions DCC equippend? Who knows? I've got three so I'm satisfied!

I have heard the same Bob...hopefully they will come out with a DCC model in the future. I don't need any more, I have caught my limit:

I embrace all Porters in all configurations and wheel arrangements...

          Hi, Verne --

          I like it!

BTW, I live about half a block from the former H.K. Porter Locomotive Works. Most of it is still standing, although much modified. I love your models.

Very nice display of models, Verne. The train on the first track is full of charm.

              Verne,

Don't give up your day job. However, I sure would like to hear your song put to music .. [:-sing]

              Nice selection of Porters .....
