  • Why you DON'T want to win the LOTTERY

See, people go CRAZY when they win a lottery and get all that money. They go out and buy everything they can find then end up bankrupt...

Check out this auction in Indianapolis today from just such a case:

And not a single train set or engine in the auction. For shame.

But Walt, if I won I could afford to buy one of each of everything you have for sale.

So I'll still buy those tickets, LOL.

Go figure. What a waste, the winners acted like a kid in a candy shop, just a a larger scale.

It's always better to be the big fish in a little pond then the little fish in a big pond.

Then I'd have to pay all those taxes to support the Stimulus Package that ain't worth the paper it's written on. But then again....I could buy trains.......

What I really got a kick out of was the THRONES. Did you see those? Took them 10 years to dispose of the entire winnings and end up in bankruptcy court. Here's an article on the local TV station about it.

Winning big in the lotto is a no brainer for me: buy the East Broad Top Railroad.

Didn't have very good taste in decor, did they? Pretty gaudy looking stuff. I think the thing that speaks volumes about them is those thrones.

                  walt,

Looks like they started out okay with buying a few things for the crew quarters. Just think if the money would not run out, what the RR would look like.

I don't think that would happen to me, spending myself broke....but; I sure wouldn't mind trying.

I like all of the rows of 18th century armoirs, fancy carved charirs, cases of china and... a cheap patio table and chairs from WalMart.

I think it said all this stuff was in a 5000 sq. ft. house - how? Stacked upon each other? It took four tractor trailers to haul it all away.

Eddie, my thoughts exactly. Most of that stuff was butt ugly. :yuck:

If I would ever win the mega lotto, I'd pay off my home. Then finnish remodeling the inside, finnish the basement, and build a new deck. Then spend the rest of my days hunting, fishing, and Model Railroading. The thing I don't understand, what does one do with a suit of 18th century armor?
