              • Congratulations Guy's! Well done!

I bet that's a big relief to know you have working track.

Now the fun part starts, not to say that what you just finished wasn't fun.

Now you can start the finishing and run trains at the same time, just not too much or you'll never finish.

                Cheers

                • Yup:

With phase 1 of the layout nearly complete wiring and track wise, we now turn our attentions to getting our operating scheme up and going. Like finishing the printing of car cards and waybills.

Our computer is having windows issues and it won't print out car cards, this happens when I am 20 cars away from capturing all the club cars onto car cards, so we will have to get it repaired.

When we finished with the run of the first train, the rest of the evening was an open running night, members brought down their motive power. One member worked our major yard, while another member took the local that was put together and spend most of the evening switching industries, while others took some thru trains that had been staged. It was a fun time for all.

                  • I love the paint job done on the motive power, someone has taken a lot of time masking and painting. They look great!

You may have mentioned this a while back but if you don't mind me asking, what type of control are you using, Dc or DCC? If DCC what type?

I'm just getting into DCC myself and was wondering what type and why?

God, I hate Gardening, it's keeping me away from some serious modeling.

                    • It's DCC, and we are using NCE.

The Blue with the light gray and white swoop took some time to do, the member that did those did a nice job.

                      • I forgot to respond as to why we are useing NCE. Back before the flood happened, we were in the process of converting our old layout from DC, to DCC. We had a member that was well acquainted with the verious DCC systems available and recommended NCE because he thought that it was the most user friendly of all that was available. We used it for 1 operating session, and then the flood happened.

Fast forward to now, we had this NCE equipment vintage 2002 stored while we were excavating, so all we had to do is get up-grades to the old equipment to handle the new layout. So we didn't have to shell out a large amount of cash to purchase a new system.

You may have already known this but our work nights are Monday's and Thursday's. If you can't make it on one of those nights, let me know via this forum as to what day(s) you will be in town and we'll open up the place for you. That invitation is open to everyone on this forum.
