  • Happy birthday Larry, good afternoon to the rest of you! Geezer, welcome to the endless soap opera of dying computers! Be glad you don't live in a boat, like we used to before... that lifestyle really killed a LOT of computers!!!

Snow and cold has returned here, grrr, but thankfully just for a couple of days, I'm informed. Great dane dog has grown yet a couple of inches more, so we'll soon be needing a larger car... Have a fine day all!

        • All,

Who needs information on the Mid-Hudson Meet. I can help provide that, I know Geezer has talked with Allen Littlefield (host), its a open attendance with vendors and modules and tutorials.

I have been going the last 4 years or so, Spring and fall meets, they are really good.

          • Les - I need directions to the meet after I get to New Paltz, if you have them.

I lost the email from Allen this weekend, am hoping to recover everything.

            Thanks in advance, The Geezer

Chort - Bud do ya Fish, Man??? LOL!

Art - I will post directions on how to make the "Women" do what you want them to do...

            • Geez,

              • Yeah Les - I cant make it Friday as the wife already made plans for me (that I didnt know about!!)

I think the game plan is to get there early and drop me off, picking me up later. If it is possible to change a MRC decoder from steam to D-cell, I would bring one along, just to see how its done.

That would be the plastic car challenge entry that I am working on....

                • Geez,

Super...Here is the info I got from Allen.

"No invite required, just have them let me know they are coming so I can make them a name tag. Particulars such as directions, lodgings etc. are better answered by me if they just email me.

April 17/18 Gardiner NY, Exit 18 New Paltz NY, NYSThruway. Fri 10am till 8pm, Sat 8am till 3pm. $10 entrance fee. Coffee and snacks provided both days. All On30 meet with at least 5 vendors."

So PM me and I will give you Allen Littlefields email address. We drive up on Thursday, have dinner, then startup on Friday, driving home on Sunday Morning.

                  • Just checking in to say I'm still alive.

No modelling done over the past 3 weeks - no impetus to do anything.

However, that is due to change with the imminent arrival of an enclosed Dunkirk kit from that nice maquis de Resin.

I'm going to adapt one of the Ernie Undergound tube train chaissis to fit.

Biggest problem has been providing truck frame sides to replace the tacky ones that came with the model.

Tichy & BVM frames are too long for the wheel base, I eventually pinched the trucks off a Bachmann Flat car and cut them up - perfect fit!

So now I need two truck sets to replace on the flat car and 4 more for the 3 other Underground Ernie motor units!

Hint, hint to those of you scrapping your Bachmann trucks for something else.

Starting a 3 week vacation on thursday - one week to get the Motorbike out of winter storage and back on the road and then two weeks in Crete for some sunshine and warmth.[:-jump2]

                    Edited to add...

Those of you going to the New York troublemaker's meet (Allen Littlefield), give my regards to the little fellah and buy him a Ying Ling for me! not too many though!!

Thats all finished now and today when i got home i found the latest Narrow Gauge down under in the mail box. Looks like its got some good stuff in it including Laurie Green's San Migule and Also the Dolly Varden Story as well. Looks like its cover to cover time for me.

My head is fine but I got a sunburn from golf and a banged up ankle from blocking a puck Sunday night.

                              • Good Morning All,

Not much modeling done on Porter, I did do a round table (virtual Round table) with my other modeling friends about making the roof frame and supports for the Porter. Doing the jig work and heating the brass wire.

Its cold here too, and the RR is now making progress, I have passed the procrastination hump and will start cutting foam this weekend.
