    • Chort,

Short of the Bachmann low profile, thats what I am converting everthing to, or only buying, I use alot of the Grandt ON30 trucks. They have to be built but they look really good when built up. The cast metal ones are okay, I have a few, but I find the tolerances are bad, and will eventually be swapping them all out.

        • Hi everyone, I don't know if anyone would be interested but so many have helped me find things I need in the past here I would like to repay a little. I am using a lot of plaster cloth and started out using the WS like most I suppose, but the cost is beyond belief here at our LHS so I went on a long search ebay etc. to find a solution. One of the guys on here turned me on to a ebay spot that had pretty good prices. But to make a long story short I am getting the 15ft.x4" rolls at a little over a dollar a roll INCL. shipping! I just got 128 rolls in 32 roll cases shipped for 5.95. That's 82lbs. of plaster cloth. I wanted to try some before telling you guys to make sure it's good....It Is! Same exact stuff as the LHS has the same plastic roller. I just ordered another 64 rolls. If your doing a layout this is hard to beat. I have no affiliation other than a customer, they just had a sale and knocked off another 20% this weekend. Hope this is helpful.. http://www.aswexpress.com/art-supply.../015008A000000 Jerry

                Les-

Do you recall exactly what speaker and decoder model you are using here? What speaker/decoder combo are you putting in your critter/diesels?

Thanks for posting so much useful information on locomotive bashes and rebuilds.

                  • chortnhunkrd thanks for the offer it's still too early in the day for the fancy stuff for me.

I am now officially a little longer of tooth.

I forgot it was even my Birthday and agreed to go do a Charity golf tournament with the local pro hockey team. Wish me luck in the Happy Gilmour longest drive contest.

If I can still see straight when I get home I will check back in.

                    Have a great day everyone.

The decoder is a Tsunami 750 Light Steam, and the speaker is Soundtrax 1"x5/8" I think, I can get you the spec. If you check the Sountrax site they list all the speakers. Some place here I posted a pic of the the round speakers..3/8", 1/2", 3/4". I had originally planned to use the 3/8" and put it in the roof, but decided I could put all the stuff in the bunker. I believe that this is the smalles rectangular (oval) speaker.

If you need spec's PM me.

chortnhynkrd - where ya at in NY? I am in Brooklyn -

Les - you are a tome of information - I dont know how you find time to

get all the information you post for us. Thanks much!!

Some may have noticed that The Geezer was non-evident Saturday night & Sunday -

My computer at the cabin decided that it was going to yank my chain by

informing me that there was no longer a operating system on the PC. In other words

HD0 and HD1 took a vacation on me. I have lost one drive before, but not two!!!

I have it here in Brooklyn for disection tonight.

What makes me mad is, all my pictures and information is on them..GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I did manage to get the 2nd mogul painted and the sound installed this weekend.

                            • Geez,

This is why we have USB backup drives, I regulary move stuff off the hard drive to USB. I have tried the backup utilities but sofar not impressed at all.

Are you bringing goodies to see at the Mid-West meet next month. I sure would like to see your work up close. I think your admittence pays for a table.

Work going on- you bettcha, I have the porter in works, the Railcar challenge, Goose #2 (have the parts now) Goose #7, have a plan, still working on execution of that, and Goose #6 have the kit. And waiting in the wings is the last 2-6-6-2T the Booth Kelly look alike. If I don't have a list and stack of things to work on then I would be off chasing cars.

                              • Les - I will save the information, as I have a recovery setup to work with. It was at Brooklyn home, so I couldnt do anything til I got the box home.

As far as bringing goodies to the meet, That is up in the air...all I can say is maybe. But I am positive that I am going to the meet. My daughter is here from Indiana that weekend, but I will make the women drive me up there and they can go shopping or something.

I am more interested in learning how to use the Zephyer and seeing your models. Maybe when my ability improves a bit more, I will have the moxie to show them off.

Your to do list is pretty impressive....Good luck!
