  • The rivetting work looks nice, Alex. Did you use a mechanical help to do it?

    Comment

    • Thanks guys,

Frederic: no mechanical help per-se. Just a ruler and a "tool" Ive made for riveting(it is basically a pin pushed and glued into an eraser, for a more comfortable grip)

      • Great work, Alex. The rivets are very evenly laid.

        • Lars, sorry, forgot to answer your question.

Yes, the cab is scratchbuilt in cardboard, covered with basswood.

There is still much detailing to be do to it as well. It was just too tempting to paintand weather it (paint and weathering is not finalized either)

          • Visited Bill Black's layout yesterday. Here are a few photo's. He has done a huge amount of work since I was there late last year. Also caught up with Paul Dundas & Mario Rapinett.

                  • Outstanding layout. The buildings are super, and this long piece of track running along the mountain is a fantastic model railroad scene.

So many great scenery products available these days.

I think Bill Black has most of them and recently started "growing" stuff on his layout.

Here are a few happy snappy's

                      • Thanks, Mario, for posting the additionnal pictures on your site.

Bill's rendition of man's perpetual attempt to tame nature is very evocative.

Finishing an Sn3 locomotive is on my "list".

                              • Have started the Mantua/Tyco Ten-Wheeler to Sn3 conversion:

It only took a few hours to modify the frame using a file. Runs great with the late can motor upgrade.

May not be "foreground", but with some detailing will pull the freight.

Will have a web article about the adventure
