Bitter cold in MI this morning, 20s and wind...might go to 240 Missed breakfast.

Crew shack combo coffee, all the stuff from the coffee containers mixed together, gate guard cooler full of diet and ethyl in the sodie pops. Eggs and grits and some blue berry muffins, toast and some oranges.

Wasted most of Sunday trying to save images of daughter's creations by removing all the backgrounds, leaves a light checked background in my PhotoShop Element...intent was to use the images as parts in a collage for the Doll to order a shirt for daughter's b'day. Was next going to start a new page on Corel Draw and insert each image and group them together...but...each danged one of them opened with a rectangular white background that didn't play well with others when it came to making a group. So...I returned to PSE and opened recent image of those I'd spent the time on and sure as hell, they re-open with a rectangular white back ground. So that project is back in the freezer.

I'm going to work on the layout and suppress my greatly diminished -EXPLETIVE- supply. Using real tools and such, maybe I'll draw blood or something...

I ordered a new decoder for the E8, can't seem to make the other work, no matter what. Like most things they seem up $10-20

LIONS Won! Nice they get a week off but will miss watching them. Like a boxer they just wore down the other crew and kept on coming.

It is about 10:25 am here in west Texas. I was beginning to wonder if the crew lounge was going to be " froze up" and closed. Thanks for opening Karl.

It is cold in west Texas.....mid to low 30s for a high and low 20s for evenings. This through next Friday and with Thursday, Jan 9 is "Very cold with snow at times, accumulating an additional 1-2 inches" per forecast. We usually don't get this type of weather until late Jan and early Feb.
Outside cats water bowl was froze solid. I am surprised they weren't.

No train time this week as I have a new drafting project to finish hopefully by the end of the week. My drafting office is a 14' x 16' wood framed stand alone building. The walls are insulated but floor and ceiling are not. I have 2 electric heaters in the building but they struggle to keep the place comfy when temps get like they are this week. The heaters probably won't keep up this coming Thursday.

Oh well enough of my BS........Have a great day, John

Well, it was 28 degrees and there was 4" down when I got up and had coffee and a blueberry bagel...

After an hour or 2 I decided I either had to shovel it or fire up the snowblower and take what was now 5+" off the pipe stem. Snowblower fired up o 1st crank and 90 min later the pipe stem is clear......for a little while -- have to go out and do it again, probably, tonight or tomorrow morning.

No idea what I'm doing the rest of the day - some home office time and maybe if I get up the motivation into the shop for a while. Got the 1st phase of backing up the computer done -- that took a day. Now it's time to do phase 2....another day or more.

More hot choc and I don't know what else now.

      Same as it ever was......

Good afternoon, crew. It is 23 and snowing a the moment here in S.E. Michigan.

Just taking a lunch break from taking down the Christmas tree. When we finish that up, I may or may not have the energy for some modeling.

FYI, some efforts are being made to extend the life of the forum. The discussion is taking place here: https://railroad-line.com/node/11013...e2#post1102148

        Have a great day!
