The headlight appears to have an anti-vibration mount. Reasonable, as I expect loco vibration was hell on wicks and mantles.

I liked the two different wheels on the front truck (spoked and solid.)

The same loco (on Shorpy) a year earlier: https://www.shorpy.com/node/14355?si...iginal#caption Note this photo shows paper wheels on the lead truck, and a Schenectady builder's plate. From the changes between these two, I conclude this loco was in an accident that damaged the smokebox and front truck...

It has had the air pump changed out for a 9-1/2" Westinghouse in the later photo. And a whole new cab as well. Must have been a pretty major overhaul between photos. Look how glossy the paint is! Even the stack shines a reflection. You'd catch hell from the prototype police for painting a model that shiny.

Great photos. Really interesting to look at. I particularly dig the earthenware jug and fancy class lights in the older photo.
