  • Alexander Scale Models "haunted house"

Scalemates couldn't help - can You?

i think the early to mid '60s. one of their chipboard & metal castings kits.

i think it looked similar to this one: Gallimore Railroading: Hopper's Narrative Influence (ocalicreek.blogspot.com)

    thanks

secharles, not really certain what your looking for, the kit or just images of the kit.
Anyway here are some images of this kit that I built, with a few modifications added to it.
I changed the belvedere on the roof with a larger one and also added a larger front porch to my version of this classic kit.

Yes! That's the one I was thinking of in my reply to secharles. Nice work.

Thanks for the link to my blog. I'm guessing it was you who asked the question about the Alexander models Haunted House on the Hopper page, as blogger posted the comment from 'anonymous'. Did you find the information you were looking for? Let me know, I'll be happy to help any way I can. I appreciate these older structures. Seems to me someone on this forum took that house to the next level with some detail parts, or maybe it was the Psycho mansion. Either way, good luck with your search!

yes (Galen) - i'm the culprit! thanks for your blog reply, too. i didn't find a way to "sign-in" to make a comment so i just posted it and it appeared. i used to be able to comment on 30 Squares but about a year ago that went ka-blooey for some reason. which bummed me out completely since i'm an EL aficionado. i reach out to him from the Forums - Narrow Gauge Railway Modelling Online (ngrm-online.com) and i believe it's where i got the link to your blog even though he is purportedly on vacation.

greg _s - you did a fantastic job with that kit. many many details added. now instead of haunted, it makes me think of a ship captains house with the Mrs just looking out to sea and wondering when the ship'll crest the horizon.

i remember getting the interlocking tower as my first craftsman kit in - whew- too long ago to remember. i would take the components out of the box from time to time and wonder just what the heck i was supposed to do with them.

Ironic, I just happened onto 30squares looking for EL Moore info earlier this week. The e-book there is great.
