Good morning all, from 33f and snizzling N.E. Indiana. Doesn't quite know what to do. The coffee urn has signaled READY with Zephyr blend. The special is a sausage, egg, cheese, and American fries, scrapple. Something like my mom would toss together. Well, she was an excellent baker. Shredded wheat on the counter, milk in the cooler, other beverages at the end of the line.

I started retaking some photos and assembling the mystery project, and watching paint dry.

Some great looking threads going on. Thom's reworked engines are really nice.

I've got a HC session going on shortly, and am headed that way.

    Have a Super day!

Good morning all! 57 on the Gulf Coast and cloudy, no rain anticipated. Had enough yesterday. Nothing planned for today but work and picking the kids up after school. Everyone have a blessed day!

      Good morning all,

Ooohh....scrapple. I'm looking forward to getting my annual fix when we venture up to PA later next month to visit our family.

This weekend was far too short. My Friday workday didn't end until the wee hours of Saturday morning. This DST nonsense added insult to injury. Oh well, I did get some workbench time in over the weekend so all is good.

      Have a great one!

        Morning all.

Need to order a new water heater today, this one seems to be running out of gas (pun, it's a gas heater). A trip to Costco and the grocery store are on tap for the way back from the plumber's. Nearly finished with my structure build, then it'll be time to clean up my office.

Good morning, Jim and crew. It's a wet chilly day in Tidewater Virginia. I'm starting my day with a haircut, which may be the most exciting thing I do today.

Yesterday it was 1 step forward, and 10 steps back. I made a major mistake and I'm going to be struggling to find time to fix it. We're leaving on an extended trip Thursday, and I have a lot of little details to wrap up.

I'm cranky this morning. An order of stuff Amazon promised would -arrive today- apparently hasn't even been released from the warehouse (it's stuff for the ball signal project, and I wanted it before the Nor'Easter coming this evening.) And then wife called me, she's due for a procedure on Friday, and the hospital wanted her to read her credit card number to them 0ver the phone. I called the 'callback number', and then the hospital main number, and pointed out to all of them "We've been told to -never- give your credit card number to someone who calls you." "But that's our procedure. You can check Caller ID." "Caller ID is easily forged, as you know." "It's due to the way the doctor runs his billing, he won't bill for us, so we have to collect before the procedure." "You need to work out sufficient notice to get a paper bill out, so there's some sort of trace/record."

The weather service still doesn't have a good feeling for rain vs snow, and how much we'll get. A lot depends on details of the storm track and where the rain/snow bands go. But a foot is quite possible. Dogs are supposed to go to the groomers tomorrow, and I have a Dr Appt Wednesday morning... Looks like we're going to get this winter's snow all in March.

add: More cranky: Wife has to pay for a medical appointment in advance. For some reason, her card and then my card were 'declined'. So I had to call, carefully read the numbers, monitor the phone for any messages from the credit card company. Hospital says "it's because the doctor forces us to bill separately." I'm not a big fan of mandating "Medicare for all", but the health care system has only itself to blame if that gets jammed down their throats. (A different hospital presented an analysis a couple years ago, 'At current Medicare reimbursement rates, we'd be bankrupt in 16-18 months if that's what we got paid for every procedure.' )

Weather update: Dog grooming postponed until next week. Wife's follow-up appointment moved to telemedicine.

The business side of the medical world seems like it’s run by some third world im-potentate, then some is…too bad talented medical folks are being smothered by massive corporate bureaucracy and flat out incompetent mindless “but that’s how….”

            Good Morning All,

Starting out at 72F. It's already rained with more to come and we've had a short power outage. Yesterday I ran trains for awhile. Today is the wife's 65th birthday so it will be about her. Going out to supper with the extended family tonight.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Wet out now, but that's just beginning to seem normal again...

Coffee and carrot cake pancakes with bacon again....not normal, but it's what's in the frige.

Time at the bench today, reading the next library book, and generally not much else going on. Somewhat unnerving is doing nothing.

Have to mount up an expedition to locate a bottle of Reefer Orange in the paint stash today.

            So it goes.....

Good morning from wet and cold West Virginia.

Yesterday we did a little dancing with friends at an old time music event. I got some of my surplus models out and put prices on them.

Today I will run my layout, work on my depot, and--hopefully--practice music and dancing. Oh, then there's the painting I'm trying to finish up.

              Have a good one!

              Mike

                Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast and coffee Jim, I'll pass on that scrapple stuff.

Happy Birthday to Curt's Kathy on her 65th. As Curt said it rained here early and still at my house. It calls for more rain later today and down to the low to mid 40's the next two days.

I had a 7:15AM Dr. appointment to remove a little skin cancer from my right ankle. All is well for now.

I have lots to do today in the train shed.

                Have a great day ya'll.

                Tom

Good morning from S.E. Michigan where it is snowing once again. Dave, March has given us more snow than the rest of the winter combined - 16" so far this month.

Curt, Happy Birthday to your bride. I think that I remember my wife's 65th birthday, but her 75th is certainly clearer in my mind.

I'm done painting all the new trim around the doors and window we just had installed. Today I need to touch up the walls around the new installations. The good news is that the previous owner of the house left me two shelves of paint cans. The bad news is that none are labeled for the rooms they were used in. Add to that is the fact that the previous owner's wife loved tan/beige walls. So off to the guessing game I call "50 shades of tan". Click image for larger version

Good morning Guys, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening the Lounge Jim with our morning coffee and chat.

Your package should be at your doorstep today. Enjoy, and have fun!

37 degrees and cloudy for todays weather again, here in the Ocean State, Rhode Island.

Everyone enjoy your day whatever you choose to do with it. I think I'm having another slow day. The weather forecast is crappy for this week.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. I'll see you all on the RR-Line Forum.

                      Good morning everyone.

Jim, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.

Joshua tree weather: Sunny, with a high near 74.

Today will be mostly a relax day.

                      have a great day everyone.

                        Mornin,' All!

It's 24, feels like 14, headed all the way to 26 and the grey blanket is firmly in place here in the northern mitten. Lots of little white thoodangies flurrying about, with promises that it will end soon and may crank up again later. Looks like James, Dan, Dave and some others have some hunkering in the bunker to prepare for as their festivities begin tonight. Pogo is right... Friday the Thirteenth is on a Monday this month....

The "ain't gonna be no problem, so fuggeddaboudit" WGFA out there have caused the Road Commission to have the sand trucks out, so this could be an interesting day.... Need to head over to a friend's after lunch to help set up for an Op Session Wednesday evening, so that takes care of the afternoon.

Bruce, we need that emoticon available in the list!

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Good afternoon, all. It's 45F with heavy overcast in the lower Merrimack Valley. The kid and I helped get the polling place set up this morning. One of my fellow selectmen is away and the other has to deal with a family health issue, so no quorum, no meeting tonight. And if the storm goes badly I may spend 12 hours minding the polling place and vote counting tomorrow. Oh, well, I'll bring some models to work on; if it's really bad that'll cut voter turnout.

Finished my slide show last night, now to make a movie of it.

I kinda miss Town Meeting, got to see that when we lived in Sherborn MA. (Neither Derry nor Dover are Town Meeting form of government.) But I fully respect the people who work hard to make it happen.
