  • Friday morning lounge

Good morning crew, readers, and lurkers, from 9f (it's a 'dry' cold) N.E. Indiana. The Pennsylvania 'rat' didn't lie, 6 more weeks of winter. The coffee urn has signaled READY with Dispatcher's blend. The special is a breakfast burrito with chorizo and a side of frijoles. The oatmeal pot will last until mid-morning tomorrow, no dancing raisins in that box next to the pot. All other drinks at the end of the line.

Health club this morning, after playing hooky yesterday. A trip to hobby lobby later to pick up some more canopy glue. Sure miss those 40% off coupons. More drawing, more printing, more putting together the assembly instructions and taking photos for my buddy's kit.

I'm picking the Eagles! Oop that's not this weekend, haha!

    Have a Super day!

    Check your mail today, Lou!

Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is 7 degrees over here in S.E. Michigan and temps will stay in single digits all day. We had another light dusting of snow over night.

I don't think we have any outings planned for today, so some basement time is likely.

    Have a great day!

Well, I'm still dragging with the Springfield Crud. I'm getting better, but slowly. Last night I redid the spike ladder on the ball signal post and started work on a new set of pulley arms. I wasn't happy with the first attempt...

Good Morning Jim and those to follow,

Started out with a walk at 67F. I didn't even need a jacket this morning. Have some inside chores this morning then I need to "wash" the resin parts before starting construction.

I hope everyone has a good day.

          Morning all,

Jim thanks for the breakfast and coffee. Coffee smells great this morning.

Dave, hope you get over the Crud very soon.

I got the grass edged and cut yesterday. The weather was a perfect 74 with a slight breeze. Southern living at its best.

          Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning, guys. Thank you for opening, Jim. Oats with raisins, and a cup of that Dispatcher's Blend for me.

It's a cold, windy day, so we will probably stay indoors except for errands.

The bathroom work continues and I stick around to answer questions when they come up. Nothing is quite normal in this old house as far as construction and therefore I get lots of questions. It's going well. The electrician is here now to install the lights and outlets. All the walls have been painted in the bath and adjoining rooms and the trim is painted and ready to be installed.

In the midst of all this our refrigerator gave out, so after a cross check of Consumer Reports and refrigerators in stock at the nearby Lowe's, we have a new one. Best this happens in winter when the outdoors can double as an appliance.

Meanwhile, I got some work done on my depot. I hope to do more of the same today.

            Have a good one.

            Mike

Good morning, Jim and crew. The sun is up and a northwest wind is rattling my chimney cap but our furnace isn't working too hard; I fixed air leaks yesterday. Some schools in NH and MA are closed, the obvious ones are big cities where kids walk and warm clothes might be a luxury. Not ours, where since my stepson graduated nobody walks.

After cleaning up (several air leaks were in chimneys) I did a couple of punch-list fixes on the layout. More today.

                Morning, all.

It's a balmy five below zero here this morning. In an hour, I get to go out in the cold to get a haircut. Four day weekend here, hope to get back to the vehicle build.

                  Good morning everyone.

Jim, thanks for the coffee and weather.

Coffee (2 cups) and an everything bagel.

Only action on the agenda for today is a dash over to the library to drop off 5 and pick up 4 more. Falling behind on my reading - got to read a manuscript for review....due soon. Got an article to finish processing and then a pile of product reviews to finalize.

Some painting in the shop today and a shift in projects to re-org the space to move one of the overflow projects back into place.

                    So it goes...

Kind of cold here, sun early is getting covered over, some light snow forecast for sometime this afternoon. Maybe. Windy overnight seems to have diminished some. Yep, the rat’s right, Jim too, it’s still winter.

That’s it from here. Everyone be well.

                          Mornin' All!

The grey blanket is firmly in place here in the northern mittten, so in theory it's holding the heat in and warming us. In theory. It's a balmy plus 8, wind chill at -7, winds from the west at 15, gusting to 22. This is warmer than it was when I woke up this morning, so maybe there is improvement afoot. But the rat was right... it's still winter.

The bills and such are gradually being dealt with, the tax man is being dealt with, and with any luck at all, I may be able to go through the bags and see what I bought in Springfield. Getting rid of the Springfield Crud is high on the agenda, too, but that takes time.... And speaking of time, it's time for more coffee. Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!
