    Saturday Morning Lounge

    Good morning from S.E. Michigan where the wind is roaring and temps are dropping. (Ten degrees in the last hour.)

    Breakfast is the Jersey favorite: Taylor Ham, egg & cheese on a hard roll. Oatmeal for those who prefer. Our coffee is our Roundhouse Blend.

    Today will be a mix of errands and some time in the basement working on the layout.

    Good Morning Bruce and those to follow,

    I was feeling poorly yesterday and spent a good part of the day in bed. Feeling better today. Have a couple of chores then my day is up in the air.

      Rain and rain and more rain today........fire in the fireplace to take the chill off and again tonight, I think.

      Hot Choc and I'm not sure what else from the kitchen - we'll see about that later. World Cup match to watch in a bit, too.

      Still wrapping up projects on the bench; little caboose thing and painting on 2 other projects; might have to set up the floor heater in the shop. But home office paper rearrangement stuff is cleared away for a few days............might get back to scanning in articles from old issues of RMC later...


      So it goes...
      In a time like ours seemings and portents signify. Ours is a generation when dogs howl and the skin crawls on the skull with its beast's foreboding.

        Good morning from a chilled So. Central Wisconsin. 16f degrees feels like +1 wind chill. Winds are steady at 15mph compared to yesterday’s gusting into the +50mph.

        Thanks Bruce for opening and the morning meal. Enjoy the train room.

        Curt, hope you can do want you want today. Being sick, sucks…

        I barely spent 30 seconds in the train room yesterday. I hope to change that this morning.

          Good morning ya'll,

          Curt, hope y9ou feel better as the day goes.

          Today, I'm cleaning out the shed and consolidating all things Christmas. We have them in several different places. I'm a little weary of looking for some of the Babes stuff when I have no ideas where to look.

            Your Babe sounds like the Doll. Things get “put away” not necessarily “put BACK” increasing the stress level in finding what ever it is. “Away” is often miles away from “Back”

          55 degrees and rain coming, here in the Ocean State, Rhode Island today.

          Not sure what today will bring for me yet.

            US plays NL at 10:00 this morning. Good luck to the US team! Once that is over, I'll see if I can build up enough steam to do something on the layout. For some reason, even when I've gone downstairs, I haven't had the strong desire to actually do something. I'm kinda at a point where I don't quite know how to do something, and suffering from "don't make a mistake" paralysis.

              US lost 3-1, it was a good game. NL goals were great ones, and US had many chances but couldn't put the ball into the net.

            Well digger’s cold this morning after ~50 yesterday.

            Spent the afternoon getting my Jeep back from the shop. Parts were a week earlier than they said at first. The flashing lights are gone from the dash. A faulty sensor in the locking differential was replaced. One of those deals where they have a service bulletin on, a kit to fix, but not a recall.


            The Doll’s granddaughter and other daughter just arrived.

              Mornin' All!

              30, grey blanket in place, windy, gale warnings, and since somebody's cat apparently knocked the temperature off the table, we're headed to 24 here in the northern mitten today. The Good News is that the antibiotics are putting up a good attack, and I may be safe to solder this afternoon. We shall see. Not Going Out Unless Necessary sounds like a Good Plan....

                Good morning! Wind is blowing in my part of Michigan, too. Power went off long enough for the generator to kick-in, but then came back on. It sure is dark in the train room until the generator kicks on. It is only 30 seconds but it sure seems a lot longer. I'm planning on modeling until the Michigan game comes on this evening. I hope everyone has a great day.

                  Afternoon, all.

                  Late check in today. I've cleaned most of the basement and wrapped some gifts this morning. Wife got back this morning from visiting the grandchildren in Wisconsin, so I had to hear all about that. Need to finish building a train and test the layout to prepare for all the grandkids coming in two weeks.
