Good morning crew, readers, and lurkers from 49f and heavy rain in N.E. Indiana. The coffee urn is READY with Steam Whistle blend in the 'to go' cups. The crew van is parked in the garage out of the rain, for the trip to the Greek's in a little while. We want to cram as many as we can into the van, to save on the escalating fuel costs.

Hope the weather is good for the Tour de Chooch folks. Beats the heck out of Zoom meetings, I'm sure.

I spent a good part of yesterday re-arranging stuff in the shop to get the 'snow plowing' tractor chained up, ready for frozen rain. It generally doesn't serious here, until after Christmas. Although the freak snow storm here the first week of October sure caused a lot of problems. I doubt I'll be riding that tractor much in any event, for a couple of months.

Hobbywise, I spent about 2 hours updating my database. I hit the 2000 items mark. Can you spell 'out of control'? I gave my youngest son a ton of machine shop tools on Thanksgiving. He loved them, and I loved getting them out of here. He just bought a Sherline lathe and is taking a class at a vocational high school. Aeronautical Engineer from Purdue 'learning new skills'.

First half of yesterday's Michigan - Ohio State was good, second half no so good. This afternoon I'll watch the Bears get crushed by the Jets out in the shop, and keep sorting through stuff.

    Have a Super day!

Good Morning Jim and those to follow,

Had a great time at Tom's yesterday. Afterwards the wife and I went shopping. All I can say is yikes! Today I hope to do some things on the layout.

I hope everyone has a good day.

      Morning all,

As Curt (PRR Modeler) said, we had a great time yesterday. Ran trains, BS'd and had a great lunch at the local watering hole.

No layout stuff for me today unless I get started on the 1:1 stuff on the list.

      Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning to the entire crew. Jim, that rain is here in S.E. Michigan as well. It is 38 and the temps will stay close to that all day.

We picked up our Christmas tree yesterday and will probably put it up some time later this week. I also got a little modeling time in yesterday.

Jim, learning new skills is always a good thing.

      Have a great day!

Raining here. A trip to the grocery store is on today's docket, as is some basement cleanup.

            Jerry,

I sent you a PM about Steve C. Also, I do get messages/PMs and didn't see any problems on my end.

Rain here is incoming in the mid-50's........might put fire in the fireplace just to counter the damp....

Got to clean up the kitchen and finish breaking down the leftovers......

Puttering about in the shop on projects; 2 more have joined the fray - a pair of done but maybe not done cars.......

Have to grind out that 1 galley proof today and start to translate my red ink into something useful to others. Still waiting for the other galley....sigh. As much as I enjoy the Editor gig, the wait until the last second before the deadlines thing is beginning to wear on me.

Good morning Guys, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening the Lounge Jim. Nothing better than a cup of coffee to start the day off.

47 degrees and sunny, here in the Ocean State, Rhode Island today.

Today is a lazy sit back day for me. Nothing planned.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day ahead. I'll see you all on the RR-Line Forum.

              Good morning everyone.

Jim, thanks for the coffee and the ride.

Texas weather: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 52.

Sunday is for football at a sports bar.

              Have a great day everyone.
Follow along as my dog and I travel the country in our van.

80-90 percent rain, 35-400 temp. Grey shade #36 here this morning.

Don’t sit by the wheel wells in the van…a bit of welding to do there…

Enjoy, all, thankfully the season is over for the $95,000,000 PC-woke football misprogram. $500,000/loss…

                Later.

Good morning! Raining here (S.E. Michigan), too. A couple degrees colder and I would need the plow. I'm planning on spending the day at the workbench. I hope everyone has a great day.

Morning. Just got back from the grocery store and breakfast, figured I'd check in. Spent most of yesterday afternoon getting the snow blower ready and hanging Christmas lights. A trip to Lowes later for a lightbulb the local hardware store doesn't stock. Click image for larger version

                      Mornin' All!

It's a lovely 44 here under the grey blanket in the northern mitten, headed to 44, and lots of "Maybe" out there today. Maybe it will rain. Or Maybe not. Maybe the showers will have embedded snow Or maybe not. Maybe we'll see some sunshine. Or maybe not, especially after looking at the radar map....

The Good News is that we did change out the wiper blades on the van a couple of weeks ago, so....

Holiday decorating is done, and it's time to get at the scheduling process for the Op Session here on 07 December. Hope this session works better than some other 07 Decembers that come to mind....

Be positive, test negative, and stay safe!

I paid the spousal cost and got to a couple Tour de Chooch open houses. Dick Fralick's New Haven had the best/most effective use of mirrors I've seen. I had to look really closely to see this was a pair of mirrors, and not holes through the concrete foundation to the other side:

And a pair of nice commercial block buildings on Dave Kotsonis' layout:

I think he said those were City Classics kits bashed together into wider structures. I looked really closely and could NOT see where he cut and reassembled the sections. He showed me the straight file he used for this, he said "I got this, told other people about it, and when they went back, the files were all sold out." The file is about 2" wide -straight- rather than tapered, and blind on both edges.

Interesting. I'll try to remember to ask next time I go to Amesbury Inductrial. I did tall a couple of modelers less than half my age about "K&S Metal Rack", but was not pleased to see Walthers removed K&S from the print catalog before 2016. I guess modelers doing metal work are expected to learn K&S exists on the internet? But AIS has a K&S rack and they expanded their stock when I asked.

                          Hobby Lobby still carries K&S.
