  • Thanksgiving morning 2022 lounge

Good morning crew, readers, and lurkers, from 38f and clear N.E.Indiana. The coffee urn is READY with Diamond Stack blend. The special is Oatmeal in anticipation of the carbohydrate loaded meals planned for later today.

We celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with the youngest son and his fiance. It was very nice, with the real cook exhausting herself preparing all the food. There will be a Turkey ala ????, Turkey sandwiches, and the Turkey soup over the next week. Quite a project for a small group.

We all shared what we were thankful for.

Here on the FORUM, I'm thankful for all the friends we share here in the virtual world, Some of us are friends in the real world, and that's great too. This past year, and coming up shortly has been quite a roller coaster here in the real world. The well wishes, and support I've got from a group of folks, some of who I will never meet in person, has made me very thankful for the opportunity to be amongst you.
My 'coffee blends and breakfast menus are sometimes a little wacky, but I have a lot of fun playing here in the lounge. Saying "Good Morning" to me shows the respect for all who are part of this group. I laugh a little when I get 'thanked' for the coffee and breakfast, when somebody else actually opens on an occasional time. I do have a tendency to be a little 'vociferous' as has had been pointed out on many occasions over my past 77 years. Like right now for instance.

So to the entire group of the best friends one could want. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

and of course, Have a Super day!

Morning Jim and others to follow,

Thanks for opening Jim, coffee smells great.

Thanksgiving dinner with just the Babe and her mother. The kids are with their respective in-laws for Thanksgiving.

After surviving Covid-19 and open heart surgery, I'm just thank for everyone and everything in my life.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

      Good morning everyone.

Jim, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and I for one enjoy your daily unique coffee blends and breakfasts.

Lubbock weather today: A 20 percent chance of showers after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 49.

I'm very grateful for our forum and the ability to share our hobby and non-hobby activities with each other.
I've never met most of you, but feel like we've become good friends virtually and the sense of caring for each other is real and heart warming.

      Have a great day everyone.
Follow along as my dog and I travel the country in our van.

        Morning all.

I'm thankful there are groups like this to share our hobby on.

I'll head out to a local grocery store in a couple of hours to pick up our Thanksgiving dinner. As it's just the wife (and dog) and I, it's not worthwhile to make a turkey and all the fixin's.

Got the new tree up yesterday and put up all the outside decorations as well.

Good morning to the entire crew. It is sunny and 32 degrees here in S.E. Michigan. We will reach close to 50 today.

Among the things that I'm thankful for is the fine group of modelers who stuck with the Forum through its 'reboot' and for those who have joined the forum since then.

We will be heading to our son's house for dinner. I can't remember the last time that we didn't host the feast.

          Have a great day!

Good morning Jim and as always thanks for opening. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Thankful just to be in one decent but very sore piece after Monday’s fall on the ice. Happy for all the excellent medical care received this week and previous years.

Even though I have only met a couple of the members here in person, I am grateful for the forum friends just being here.

be safe, have a great day

Sun and 37 going to 50! Clouds all day are the forecast, but not yet it seems.

Headed to daughter’s this afternoon. The Doll doesn’t need to cook the turkey.

Thanks for good health and a safe place to live, good friends and family. Especially thankful for the talented group of modelers here on RR-L and Joe for keeping the boiler lit.

Have a great day all. Stay safe

Happy Day, all you turkeys! I'm thankful too for the camaraderie here, as well as the great modeling inspiration and extensive how-to threads.

In between cooking, I might get down to the train room to putz with some small projects.

Another Thanksgiving and we're just getting ready to ramp everything up in the kitchen before the horde invades. Ran out and bought a basic microwave yesterday....sigh.

Thankful for more than I can list, but at the top is SWMBO'd w/o whom I'm lost mess.

A few bits to do on the bench, and some more galley to review, and a frige/freezer to clear space in.....cleared out part of the garage yesterday thinking to gain a few inches about the car. Failed, but it's still better looking.

Maybe a library book to finish while pretending to watch football and struggling to stay awake.

                    So it goes...
In a time like ours seemings and portents signify. Ours is a generation when dogs howl and the skin crawls on the skull with its beast's foreboding.

                        Mornin' All!

It's 46, headed for 50 and "mostly cloudy" here in the northern mitten, and I, for one, am thankful that I can see the weather do its thing. Jim stated an overall message very well, and I have to agree with most of it. I'm not sure about the "vociferous" part, and might change it to "loquacious," but that's me, and I'm certainly guilty of that myself.... YMMV.

And many thanks to Joe for making all of this possible! The Forums are a major source of joy in my day.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe. Happy Thanksgiving!

Morning and Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Been busy this morning with meal prep and what not. Today is the 1st time in about 15 years that were having Thanksgiving at home instead of traveling to either my brother or sister's house. Thankful that my mom is still here to hopefully enjoy it. Happy Thanksgiving to all

First and foremost, I am thankful that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit have seen me through 74 years of life, still in good health with eyes that see, a mind that comprehends, hands that work and ears that hear. I am thankful for ALL my gifts and blessing. Still able to do my drafting work at my hand no less.

I am thankful for the friends on the forum who tolerate me, my opinions, my ideas and remarks. Thanks for those who have offered and given help on some of my projects that may actually come to fruition in the new year. Living alone in the sticks of west Texas, I look forward to reading the forum as it is a link to the "outside world" for me as no one out here likes to "play with trains". I remember when the forum was down a while back and it seemed like I had lost an old friend.

I'll be working on making an architects dream come true today on a stair project that goes in a multi million dollar home. Later, I'll have some chicken and sausage gumbo for Thanksgiving. Thankful I have things to keep me busy. Most all family members are miles away.

Weather is cloudy a cold here. I'm missing the sunshine.

                              My best to all...............John
