  • K-4 & K-27's

Looking for some photo inspiration for weathering and detailing my K-4 & K-27 engines and tenders. Anyone care to do a little bit of showing off???

There are many books on this and videos. Also the Forum has had modelers showing their how-to's.
In the meantime this is a good video. At first it looks like crap, but ends up looking great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a-o0HpZxwA

Type PRR K4 into google search and many real and model photos under images are available with weathered K4's.

        Fla-Ste~,
I always thought on top of modeling, dirtiness is in the eye of the beholder, but since you asked for some inspiration... Here are a couple to hopefully get-ju in the right place.
        BRASS - ThomsCustomTrains.com
        PLASTIC - ThomsCustomTrains.com
        Cast - ThomsCustomTrains.com

Hope this helps, but Dave & Louis have the right ideas tho. Thanx Thom...

Thom, when I said there were members that show their how-to's on the Forum, I was including you.
But, I didn't even know you had that many done until I looked at the links you provided. Each one is excellent work. Click image for larger version
