  • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, tea and sodas are ready.

Lubbock weather today: A 20 percent chance of showers after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 49.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Jerry, hope the dog is doing better and nice to read about the progress on the kit.

Tom, very glad you were able to get such a quick appointment and procedure.
Take it easy today and speedy recovery.

Karl, good news on the layout work.
And you certainly are a good racontuar.

Louis, glad you enjoyed the picture.

Ron, I'm sure you'll pick the right size shade.

Larry, has the oven been turned on yet?

Mike, enjoy your dinner with the family.

Hoper all our regulars and lurkers are doing well.

Mostly a lazy day for me.
Went to the gym and then did some grocery shopping.
Most of the rest of the day was spent at the dog where Star did a lot of running and playing.
When we got back to the van and parked for the night she conked out early.
Going to be another quiet day for me.
I'll eat at the Cracker Barrel and since the weather won't be all that great I'll spend most of the day inside.

    Have a great day everyone.

Follow along as my dog and I travel the country in our van.

    • Morning Rick and others,

      HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL-

Today it's just my wife and her mother. The kids are with their respective in-laws. I remember as kids we had all families at our house. Must have been 7 adults and 10 kids. Those certainly were the days.

14 days ago our refrigerator gave up the ghost. We have gone out to dinner many many times and have been living out of a cooler packed with ice for the past 10 days. This has not been fun. We were scheduled for a new refrig on Monday but when it was delivered, it was damaged so I refused the item. We got the new one yesterday afternoon.

Now here is the Paul Harvey version of the rest of the story. The new refrig didn't fit the old opening. A new one was found 3" wider (Cha-ching). A wider refrig meant a redo of the cabinet above the new one. More Cha-ching. Of course, the new refrig doesn't match the old oven and micro so you can guess what happened next, Yes, more Cha-ching! Now since our kitchen tile floor is old, I gave in and am having a new kitchen floor installed. Did I mention Cha-ching? Well, the flooring is quite a bit more Cha-Ching. Merry Christmas, Happy Valentine's Day, Easter, July Fourth, Birthday and any other day of my choosing for all the spent Cha-ching!

      Nuff said for now.

      Tom

        • Cha-Ching is a dish best served on plastic. Geez Tom and I thought my knee hurt. Unexpected expenses are never fun especially when they lead to more! Cha-Ching.

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating this USA holiday, and even if you don’t.

I will stay out of the way as Terry will start her cooking process around 10AM. All her prep she worked on the last few days so it’s a matter of throwing stuff on the grills out on the deck. She and I will eat around 3. The kids are off to his mom and stepdad’s new condo. They may stop around 7pm for dessert as they return. The son in Austin didn’t say. We have some friends coming for dessert and left overs if anyone needs any about 7. Terry has been baking daily since Friday. 2 couples coming and whoever they drag along, doesn’t matter there is plenty. Coach might bring over some team members who are having their first Thanksgiving away from home. He’s having T-giving with family and team members, 3-20# turkey’s and about 25 people.

I am useless with the knee for today but rehab starts tomorrow at a UWHealth rehab facility. I found it on Maps but can’t picture where it’s at. Coach will be my chauffeur as I was told no driving for a couple weeks. He can work out while I learn about my rehab.

                  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE,

Rick thanks for the coffee and enjoy your day with your four legged compadre. Yes
I turned the oven on first to preheat.

Tom I could hear your wallet screaming as I read your tale. Sounds like you'll have
a new kitchen time your done. That sort of stuff never comes at a good time.

Tom O that certainly had to be a surprise. Hope the surgery went well and have a
quick recovery. Rest today before the rehab starts.

Mike Christmas tree already? I thought I was pushing it by putting up the outside
                    lights.....you got me beat.

                    Ron enjoy the US holiday.

Karl enjoy the "cooked" turkey at the daughters.

Jerry enjoy the day with the Nephew and have a safe trip.

Hope everyone else is doing fine.

                    A sunny 28 with a high of 52 here in New York. Well Tom hit the oven @ 9 am, no not Tom O or ACL Tom, for some roasting and a half hour rest before cutting. Daughter's coming for the day and is spending the night;
it'll be nice to spend some time with her. A few odds and ends left to do then we're set.

Have a wonderful day with family and furry friends. Don't get too stuffed and be well!!!!

                    • Good morning everyone.

Coffee, tea and sodas are ready.

Lubbock weather: Rain, mainly after 3pm. High near 38. North northeast wind 15 to 20 mph.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed their time with family and friends.
I got to the restaurant at one and had a two hour wait.
Couldn't believe how busy the place was.
One of the employees told me it was by far the busiest day they've every had.
Fortunately after that long wait the meal was good.

Hitting the gym first thing this morning.
I'll check this afternoon if my mail showed up.
If so it's time to head further south because there's talk of a little s@#! tonight.

I hope all our regulars and lurkers are feeling well and have a great day.

Big Bend country is nice. The high plains of Lubbock always gets the weather nasty stuff.

Be careful around the border. There are a lot of robberies at parking lots and rest stops on the river.

                    • Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee. Glad to hear the meal was worth the wait; too bad the wait
                      was that long.

Tom O hope your feeling better this fine day. Great cartoons by the way.

Hope everyone else had a great day yesterday and are doing well this am.

A rainy 43 with a high of 48 here in New York; looks like the wet weather is going to be
an all day event. Had a nice day yesterday with family and Daughter leaves for home soon.
Trash run this morning and hopefully some bench time this afternoon since I haven't
been near it for a couple of days.

Have a wonderful day. Stay dry, keep warm, and be well!!!

Thanks Larryc. I am finding my online retail therapy hasn’t helped the pain but has kept me from thinking about it. Yesterday, I used the stronger stuff from the Clinic’s pharmarcy. I am leary of pain meds but decided the knee was sore enough to warrant taking them. Still I was aware the knee was there but nothing to bad. Rehab starts this morning

Larry, family at Thanksgiving is the best. Glad your turned out well.

                    • Good morning from a beautiful looking morning in So. Central Wisconsin. It’s 30f decrees now, feels like 24 but heading to the low 50’s. The wife is out with the horses, I have a 9:40 rehab appointment for the knee. The 2 early football games were on the upstairs main TV acting as moving picture screens yesterday. I had the sound off. Never turned the last game on at all.

I have been after Exactrail and BLMA’s (now Atlas) ARMN reefers for a few years now. But, I have thought the pricing was excessive. Trainlife.com sent an email last night as the Exactrail ones are discounted from $59. To $44.95 for Black Friday. That is better then the pre-owned prices at EBay and FB sales sites. So for the second time this week I ordered from Trainlife.com which is the online store of Exactrail. I also ordered a couple box cars from the crazy good deals part of the website. Looks like I am moving to 2 eras with my rolling stock. 2005 and 2015. I will enjoy that, plus my online selling has slowed the last few weeks. I am going to review the inventory and build dates on each car and then divide them up. Maybe this way I can get to 50 cars for each era. I really though have to think this through, but it sounded good when I pressed buy last night

                      enjoy the day

Tom, good luck with the purchases. Glad to hear Black Friday is hosting some good hobby deals.

                    • Good morning Rick, Larry, TomO and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee Rick. Glad the food was good after that long wait, I don't think I would have waited that long.

TomO, good luck with the knee rehab and online therapy is always a good thing.

Hope you make it to the bench today Larry.

Didn't have to defrost the car this morning as it was 42F when I got up this morning, raining thought, hope it stops before I go home from work today.

Drilled the holes in the lampshades and added a second cote of paint last night. That will probably be it for a week as I am driving home tomorrow.

                      Have a great day everyone.
