Cool up at CP River. Got the lighthouse all wrapped up for the winter.



Here's what the lighthouse looks like lit up.



The water level during the fall. The dock with the white box on it is where the boat gets tied up. Usually the floating dock is level with the main dock.



And that's the St. Lawrence River. Canada is on the other side.



It'll be home on Sat.

After my morning walk I did some jobs around the house. Next up is placing IR sensors in the track ballast. I think we're supposed to go out to supper tonight with daughter and family.

Weather here at Badlands NP: A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 45.

Had a excellent two days here at Badlands but it's time for the next adventure.
Not sure yet where that will be but it will be more to the south.

Rain and 50s snuck in on us mid morning, AHM thankin’ yesterday may well have been the peak of the autumnal splendor if the wind, rain and gloom occurs as forecast. Colo(u)rs were spectacular as we drove up M-77 to Grand Marias on the Superior shore, and I forget the foto-fone. Quite a few folks enjoying the 70s even with a very light rain toward twilight. Crossed paths with one fellow that had apparently looked at the radar and said, enthusiastically “Nothing like a good storm!” And sat down on the bench seats to get a view… I’m sure it was not to his expectations. I’d hoped for clear sky as the Aurora has been active lately. So I join his disappointment Lots of rock pickers tho.

A couple hammer and nail or maybe Dewalt and screw projects to tinker with.

Dave; I’ll give it a go with opening tomorrow, but anyone gets hungry, don’t be shy, the key is under the mat(easy to find so burglars have less chance of busting up the door jam) if they look.

Bernd, nice looking lighthouse. Mine is 2’ tall with a solar rotation light after dark. I’d expect nothing less from the master craftsman. Nice. Mine looks like it was made by a kindergarten class in Taiwan.
