    Friday morning lounge

    Good morning all, from a brisk 52f and dark N.E. Indiana. The coffee urn is READY with Full throttle blend.. The special is a Hoosier Haystack. Oatmeal for the health conscious. All other drinks at the end of the line.

    I worked on another pair of turnouts yesterday. Supposedly the raw ties are in today's mail. I've got to plan staining them maybe tomorrow. I'm thinking a 50/50 mix of black and brown Fiebling's shoe dye. Anyone ever do this?

    Great news from our NMRA NCR Division 3 Project, "Kids run a train". We gave away 18 complete train sets, paid for by local business donations. Over 2,100 kids ran trains at two county fairs that we had set up at. Parents, Grandparents, and the county fair Commitees were very appreciative of the events. Last year about 12 kids signed up to participate in a joint 4H and our local clubs build a module program. 25 more kids signed up this year, after seeing what their friends had accomplished. If you are an NMRA member. let 'Upper Management' know this is how we save this hobby! Spread the word.

    Good morning everyone.

    Great news about trains and kids.

    Another nice day here today with sunshine and a high in the low 80's.

    Got some more organizing to do here so I can finally hit the road by the end of next week.
    Mostly dinner with friends tonight.

      Good morning, Jim, Rick and crew. It looks like it's going to be a nice day in Tidewater Virginia.

      I didn't accomplish anything yesterday and hope to change that today. I have to make some drawings for some cuttings I want to make on my Cricut. I hope to get the cutting done today.

        Yes, good news about the kids running trains. Seems like the average age of railroad modelers gets higher each year.

        I'm still trying to finish Doug's Flat Iron FOS kit. I plan my day and lately something like 1:1 life gets in the way.

          Good morning. Thanks for opening, Jim.

          It's only 60F and foggy right now in northern WV; expecting 83F and sun this afternoon. Another good walking day.

          I did get some modeling done yesterday. We had a good meeting at the club in the evening. It ended early enough that my wife and I caught some of the swing dance class and went to the local brew pub for jazz and refreshment afterward.

          More modeling planned today. I'll try to post pictures.

                Good morning Guys. and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Jim. And with the coffee. We just have to get that Coffee, it is the best way as we all know to start off the day.

                I had to get a new project going while I'm still in the modeling mood.

                63 degrees, and sunny here in Rhode Island today. After all the rain we got, the grass is back to mowing every four days again. The down side of fertilizing our lawns.

                Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

                  Mornin'All!

                  71, headed for 86 and sunny here in the northern mitten, and there are clouds on the horizon.

                  Yes, we're in for rain in a couple of days, but the darker ones are looming out there... I just found an acknowledgement in both the local paper and on a major media website indicating the possibility of a major US rail strike at the end of next week. I was tipped to this possibility back in June and have followed along with various sources ever since, but have found nothing in the major media until this morning. The announcement is buried in the fine print, along with the statement that both sides are attempting to avoid a strike if possible. There are a number of sensitive issues in play here, so stay tuned....

                  Now back to your regular programming. Be positive, test negative, and stay safe.

                    A late "Good Morning" to the entire crew.

                    It is sunny and is supposed to get into the mid-80's today. However, it is almost noon and it is still in the upper 60's, so I don't see that happening.

                    After lunch I'll head to the garage to get started on some benchwork.

                      Good afternoon, it's a perfect sunny 75 day in SE NH. I listened to King Charles' speech, it's going to be very hard to get used to talking about 'The King of England' (King of Great Britain)... After class and some shopping, I went to get the dogs back from the groomers. I have a bit of city business, a call with my district council member to ask about some stuff they passed on the city commission of which I am a member, where we on the commission were unaware this was coming up. Then I'll take the dogs for a walk, and finally get down to the train room to start organizing scenery supplies.
