  • Thursday morning lounge

Good morning all from 62f and Sunny N.E. Indiana. The coffee urn has signaled READY with Sleepers blend, and I took advantage of that name. The special is a breakfast burrito w/wo chorizo (double for Lou). Oatmeal pot is half way full. A case of diet Pepsi showed up yesterday and it's in the cooler with all the beverages.

Over did it at the health club yesterday for about 5 hours. Mowed what wasn't to wet, and then hand sprayed the weeds for quite a while. Feelin' it this morning. I did get to work/ rework, on my new layout design. Started filing rail for 18 more turnouts to build.

    That's it from here.

Have a Super day! God bless America!

    Jim

Good morning, Jim and crew. Tidewater Virginia is going to be in the 80's with rain. It's a nice change from our run of 90° weather.

I'm taking my pickup in for inspection this morning. I hope to play with my Cricut this afternoon.

Good morning Jim, George and the rest of the crew. It is sunny and staying in the 70's today in S.E. Michigan.

Some small indoor chores plus mowing the side and back lawns are on the agenda for today.

We pick up our son from Florida after dinner tonight. His wife is visiting a friend in Germany, so he is hopping up here for a few days.

      Some modeling might occur.

      Have a great day!

        Good morning everyone

Jim thanks for the breakfast and coffee

Mis-casters were wrong yesterday with their guess of highs only in the 80’s
And they’ll be wrong again today when we get into the 90’s again

Funny how I can’t find commas and periods on my iPad

Car should be sold and picked up today
Starlink is supposed to be delivered today

        Have a great day everyone

Sitting here with the iPad….my comma is under the exclamation point ! and period….the ? It must be frightening upon retirement to be missing your period….the comma? We all need a pause now and then don’t we…Manopause…hot flashes? Forget stuff? Hell I woke up in the middle,of the night to the realization I forgot to get corn starch at the store yestester….hmmm spell check dropped a couple vowels there…

it’s that damned apostrophe that hides from me…once in awhile the IA spell check inserts one whilst totally fubaring something else. Just gotta love iPads…

Forum has been very peppy this week. Look like the hamsters are running at full speed. Today I have a call with a senior person at the company handling my retirement accounts, where I'll read her the riot act about website problems. Of course, we know that CIOs are not accountable for anything they do that makes anyone else's job more difficult, since we all work for the CIO's convenience! I spent a bit of time in the train room yesterday just looking around...

          Mornin' All!

63, headed for 74, sunny and humid here in the northern mitten today. Painters showed up at the crack of dark, so I can use another round of Jim's coffee, preferably mixed in with some actual sleep!

Will have contractors crawling all over the house today, so I may be able to get some bench time in, which would be a Good Thing.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Good morning. Thanks for the oats and coffee, Jim.

Yesterday I got in some modeling. More today, I hope. The sun is out and it's not going to get so hot; a walk is on the schedule. We managed to walk the rail trail yesterday before the rain came. A tree had fallen across the trail so that was our turnaround point. We will head for a different section today. It feels good to be out walking regularly again.

            Have a good one.

            Mike

              Morning all,

Time to edge and cut the grass. I'm normally finished by now but Pam had a few 1:1 things she wanted done. Layout thread update later this afternoon.

              Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning from the 60-ish northwestern Adirondacks; the sun was out but didn't last long and thunderstorms are forecast later. I glimpsed a track machine going south on the Mohawk & Malone earlier, will go out later and look over the track work in progress. No crossbucks yet on the public road crossing, first operation appears to be railbikes out of Thendara and Tupper Lake NY while the rebuilding continues out in the sticks.

Good morning Guys, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Jim, and for my special breakfast. You would never guess what I had this morning. It was like being there with you guys. And as we know, having a Coffee is the best way to start off the day.

73 degrees, and Cloudy here in Rhode Island today. Going to get rain later, then maybe back to cooler weather once again.

The NP #6 Shop Loco project is coming along well, soon to be finished. Thanks to all that commented.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

We had contract civilians for flight instructors at Army fixed wing flight school. One of them was also a crop duster. He had been in so many airplane crashes that he had a difficult time walking, but if you fastened a motor to a barn door, he could fly it. Those guys do some crazy things.

This guy was pretty tame, one guy I’ve seen around here would really do some wild wing over moves to turn…one just stuffed his in a fence row last week a couple counties N of us but walked away. When I was working road patrol we’d get calls every time they were out…city folks just move out in the country just didn’t understand…the same folks that didn’t realize that dairy farms cleaned out their barns.

Wonder how they'll quiet down Air Tractor Turboprop, you can hear them for miles. One of the club members (might be Karl's wing over guy flying out of Kendalville) in our flying club has an Air Tractor and that dude 'can fly'! AF will probably add a seat for a weapons and ECM guy.
