  • Saturday morning lounge

Good morning all, from 57f and Sunny N.E. Indiana. The coffee urn is READY with Steam Dome blend. The special is Strawberry and cream cheese stuffed waffles, and 2 smokie links. NO seconds on the special! If you're still hungry, there is plenty of oatmeal in the pot. All other beverages are at the end of the line.

Well, that box of electronic parts turned out to be pain to catalog the contents. 327 line items added to the database., took me most of yesterday to enter all that stuff in. I did mention it was a large box, right? The kicker was that it was just strictly semiconductors. There was a CK722 Germanium transistor in the original package (probably belongs in a museum )
I'm glad I finished that project up, and will get back to looking for the original item (I forgot what it was) that I was after. I'm sure I'll remember what it was by tonight.

The CFO already has me scheduled for some work details for today. Maybe some modeling time later.

    Have a Super day!

Also doing research in mobile internet options.
If anyone has any suggestions on this topic I'd love to hear it.

    Have a great day everyone.

If it's a GM prroduct, (only?) you can get mobile internet for $25 a month through Onstar. i 've had it for about 3 years, No problems. I believe they use the AT&T network, so it's good coast to coast. It's separate from an Onstar subscription, so you really only pay $25.

Thanks Jim. It's a Mercedes Sprinter. MB also offers internet service but it only works while the motor is running.

I can use internet from my AT&T cellular unlimited and know that =Verizon has “mobile Hot Spot” but know nothing about it. When I was on Sprint, I had a SIM card in this iPad I’m using and had excellent internet speed. WHEN and IF I was in their service area. I’m sure this pad is only 4g capable as I had it well before 5.g came along.but I’m sure the wizards of Cupertino have updated their offering$ iPadPro is a huge disappointment as a computer but as a cellular phone and internet communication device it’s terrific.

Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. 58 and heading to 82 under sunny skies here in S.E. Michigan.

Some mowing, reading and modeling are the plans for today. Then again, plans tend to change.

      Have a great day!

Good morning, Jim and crew. It looks like Tidewater Virginia is staying in the 80"s today.

Jim, this is what a negative covid test looks like.

I no longer have an excuse about doing yard work, so I'll be doing some this morning. Later, I want to get back to my computer to work on building drawings. It's going slowly but fun.

Cool! The "C" and "T" must have some hidden meaning. Maybe "GO" , "NO GO" would have more meaningful.

Jim, I don't know what "C" or "T" means. I don't have the code book. I think your plain text "GO" or "NO GO" would be better.

        Not raining........so it's painting time.

Did sneak in some yard work yesterday and some tomato harvesting action.

Writing and NMRA stuff (sigh....) today in between paint drying, and projects in the shop.

Good morning Guys, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Jim. Coffee, it is the best way as we all know to start off the day.

76 degrees, and partly cloudy here in Rhode Island today. Got a very small amount of rain last night. Going to get warmer as the day goes forward.

My photographers critter is drying in the paint booth at the moment. Now thinking of how to paint the photographer logo on the side of the critter.

Not sure what today will bring for me. I'll have to play it by ear. Maybe some more work on the Photo critter. It's in the paint booth now.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

Good morning Crew. Jim thanks for opening.

Rick, I thought you ordered a Mercedes. If you did, use the Mercedes’ Connect in the vehicle. It has WiFi built in. Terry has it and I like being able to ignore Miss Speed Demon when I am in the passenger seat on my IPadPro.

The Son in Law uses AT&T in his SUV when he out with clients and says it is very reliable. I have no WiFi in my VW.

Karl, if you got the “look” you did the right thing by signing out

Thanks Tom, but unfortunately it only works while the engine is running. Not good when I'm parked at night and want to stream something or just tour the web.

Engine running or just he ignition key "ON"? If it's just powering the modem, seems like you could do/get a workaround as long as you didn't wear down your battery. GM system just requires Ignition key be in ACCessory position.
