  • Tuesday morning lounge

Good morning all, from 60f -> 76f and clear N.E. Indiana. The coffee urn is READY with Sunshine Special blend. The special is breakfast burritos. Oatmeal as an alternative. All other beverages at the end of the line.

Well, I've decided to rip out the existing layout and start a new one, tired of the crawl under access to most of the layout. So last night, I started drawing up the new one. It will be smaller, modular, and an upright walk-in access Yahoo!. Too old to be crawling around on all fours to reset a derailment or other mishap. So it will drawing and redrawing for a few days.

That's my plan for the day, what's yours?

    Have a Super day!

    Jim

Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is 57 degrees and heading to 81 today under a mix of sun and clouds here in S.E. Michigan.

A morning appointment and then some week cutting this afternoon is on my agenda.

Have fun designing the new layout, Jim. Make sure to plan for some 'animation'.

    Have a great day!
    Bruce

Finally a good bit cooler this morning with less humidity; maybe actually be able to go outside a bit today. Good news is that the tomato crop is rolling right along - lost 2 to squirrels, but that's an acceptable sacrifice to the horde of tree rats we have here.

Just about got the next issue of the magazine off - huzzah! On to the next issue......and next year's issues. Got a paragraph or 5 to grind out and some admin stuff to pop together and then it's hurry up and wait for the last files to arrive from the regular contributors for that next issue.

Shop and projects time puttering about and getting ready for another up & back expedition to the house in PA - more trim to install.....and more measurements to take......to buy more trim.......

      So it goes...

In a time like ours seemings and portents signify. Ours is a generation when dogs howl and the skin crawls on the skull with its beast's foreboding.

Good morning from the hills of West Virginia. 68F and rainy. The high today will be in the low seventies.

        Jim: interesting developments!

Yesterday went well with all my classes a challenge but doable. I recognize some people from years past, which is nice. Lots of good old time and blues music.

I brought the latest RMC but haven’t picked up yet. The only railroad-related thing I did was listening to somebody performing a train song.

        Have a good one.

        Mike

          Good morning, Jim and crew.

There are a couple octogenarians in southeast Virginia, living alone, that have covid. Pat tested positive this morning. We've been double jabbed and boosted, so the symptoms are manageable. In fact, my only symptoms are a sore throat. I'm feeling better each day.

Jim, have fun on your new adventure. I'm sure your new layout will have a lot of "lessons learned".

Rick, I don't envy you driving down I-95, but picking up a new van will make it worth the trip.

            Sun and mild In Michigan

Few plans on the agenda. George, best to your recovery.

No agenda today. There is a big lilac bush that Imhacked the heck out of trying to,get a better satellite signal that needs some trimming to even it up some….rather a lot actually…found a 4’ pine tree that was smothered out that needs removing, too. Always something.

I did the cut down the layout thing about 5 yrs ago and it’s never recovered, Jim. Best luck in keeping at it. Discipline needs to be there. Mine has been depleted.

Have a safe trip, Rick. Hope the traffic gods haven’t left too many orange seeds in your path. Enjoy.

            Be well all.

Good morning Guys, and all incoming crew. Thanks for opening up the lounge Jim. Coffee, it is the best way as we all know to start off the day.

74 degrees, and sunny here in Rhode Island today. Temps to reach mid 80's by noon.

Not sure what today will bring for me. I'll have to play it by ear. Maybe some more work on the Photo Critter.

Everyone have a great, safe and healthy day. I'll see you all on the RR-L Forum.

Good evening, all. The coast of the Gulf of Maine was also much nicer today than previous days, but I had to spend a lot of it welding. Hi ho, the job should be past its peak by this time next week. But not over. Maybe after two weeks....
