Update. I'm working on the roof. I decided on slate. Here I'm about half done with getting the roofing on the sub-roof. I'm using 3-M Transfer Tape as the adhesive. Once all the roofing is on, I will color various individual slates with different shades of grey using Prismacolor Markers.

Thanks, Pete, Dave and Greg.
The roof is done, the smoke vent is on, and the deck and steps are glued to the structure. I am just working on a few more details for the deck, and I'll call this one done. Final pics in a day or two.

Looking Good, Bruce! Any chance of a table and an awning out back?

Pete, I made a picnic table similar to those inside Kate's dining area. It dominated the deck and made it look small. So, I decided to make some small round tables that will go next to the bench(es).
I had already had my set of punches out. I used them to cut out the plates on the tables inside Kate's and for the top of the pot bellied stove in the dining area.
Here I'm cutting out the scale 2' diameter table tops. The punches work well on .02" styrene. The slot in the side of the punch allows you to push the disks out of the punch.

Oh, and with one of those "wake up in the middle of the night with an idea about the model" experiences, I decided that I better add a chimney to the main structure.
I found one in the details box that fits the roof peak well, and I'm now painting it.
