Hey Bill,

Congrats on the great article in RMC. Going to have to give Sculptamold Mix a try.

Good article, Bill. Have to admit reading and enjoying it and not noticing the byline.

Thanks everyone. Finding the article there this month was a bit of a surprise. I'd
seen a proof, so knew it was somewhere in their works, but when the RMC website posted
the November table of contents it wasn't listed. I just got my copy a day or so ago
and didn't have a clue until I flipped through the pages.

As you can see, I like how Sculptamold works. One curious thing though. Way back when I first
tried it, all the model RR articles I'd read said it was a mix of plaster and paper mache, but it
sure didn't seem to cure like plaster when I used it. I called the company and was told it positively
did not contain any plaster. The rep wouldn't tell me what was in the mix either. But, when I called
last year and said I was working on a magazine article and wanted to be accurate when describing
the stuff, that rep said it was just paper mache pulp and plaster, and it never had any clay in
it. (It's made by the American Art Clay Company...)

Once again, I'm waiting for the horse to show up with my RMC. Maybe tomorrow. I'm sure I will thoroughly enjoy the article. Congrats Bill. I did get my NMRA mag today.

Bill,

The mailperson finally made it here at 1530 today with the magazine. The article is like your others. detailed, complete, very readable, and well composed. You receive an "A+".

Sculptamold's MSDS lists only Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate, Cellulose Fiber, Pregelatinized Starch. I'm guessing most of the sticky comes from the starch component.
