I have a Athearn GP60 locomotive with the four clips on under the fuel tank. By compressing the clips is this the way to remove the shell from the chassis?

Any tricks?

Thanks.

Hi Greg, The Athearn GP60 you carefully grasp the sides of the shell and pull outward on each side and the shell should lift right off the chassis.

Louis: Do you mean to carefully rock the shell to remove from frame? It has the older plastic handrails and I'm worried about damaging the handrails.

Thanks for your help.

You place your fingers under the bottom of the shell where it meets the frame, and pull outward and up to remove.
You can also turn the locomotive upside-down and place a screwdriver blade into the 4 tabs and pry outward to release from the frame slots.
