Very nice! There is enough deviation in the board color for good effect.

Clever stuff! Neatly done.
But if the sides sag, wouldn't the lettering have also "sagged" proportionally?

Thanks for the comments.
Louis, now that you mention it, it doesn't look right.

Thanks Louis! A curse on your all your modeling. Oh, wait, I can apply some lessons learned to a second effort. I withdraw those curses, Louis.
So, it's back to square one. I think I have a way to handle the lettering problem. One of things I didn't like was that the side boards looked a little heavy, so I'm using a lighter cardstock. The second is to use wood for the side and end backing to give it more strength.
I fired up the Cricut and cut boards for the sides and the roof. I have to find the wood I want to use before I can cut the sides or ends yet. The color of the cardstock is a little lighter – that's what I have on my shelf.
Here's where I sit now.

To fix the lettering. Maybe, layout the boards straight on some tape like when you painted them. Then add the lettering then move the boards to the warped sides? Just an idea,

That's why I'm glad I'm living in this corner of the state.
Bob, that's the plan.

Same suggestion
Some rather parallel thinking going on here!

George, I had the thought "But suppose they repainted it after it developed the sag?" Alas, the next thought was "Pretty lazy shop foreman if they didn't bother to tighten the truss rods too"

James, I'm going to try to redo the sides. If all else fails I still have the original sides and your story to go with it.

Cool project. You made me dig out my John Allen book and reread the story behind his swayback cars. You will need an extremely overweight HO scale conductor to ride on top!

Chuck, I've thought about that. The only time I've messed with figures is cutting off limbs so they will fit in a passenger car. I'll have to try, but no promises. It would be a nice touch.
