Wiseman Model services has purchased quite a few going or gone out of business names like V & T shops. He also has the rights to some of the rolling stock kits Tom Yorke produced. Plus a few other X makers.

I would think he would be the logical buyer but no where near the price Dr bendover is asking at $45G for the weathering system I think is what's for sale.

SS Ltd is an independent company! https://scale-structures.com

I was always turned off by Dr Ben's overly aggressive marketing, a combination of hyperbole and showing up unwanted when I was searching for other stuff.

I'm not crazy about his stains. But I do like his industrial pigments
Much better than chalks or powders. Depending how you apply, they're
comparable to pan Pastels'.. He asking $45K for that part of the business. Seems a little steep. But who knows what his return is'..

And has the kit part up on ebay now for 55k so that's a cool 100g for it all. Think the 45 for both is more like it, and that might be stretching it.

It's on eBay? I don't see how anyone could make a cogent business decision without a lot of info that would otherwise be proprietary, e.g. cash flow, cost of parts/inventory, amount of inventory, identity of and relations with suppliers, etc. I guess that just tends to justify my negative opinion of how he does business. (and yeah, I admit to prejudice there.)

after reading thru dr bendovers ebay advert, he misstates one thing about the Thomas a Yorke ent purchase he made from Tom.

He never got the complete whole kit line, Bendovers purchase was only good up to around 2000--2002 and all the kits issued prior to that date.

There was some good designs that he never re-issued. The dumb thing is that Tom Yorke was shown by me that there was a demand for his older items as I went thru them re-issuing first the #120 Sonora store and selling around 42 of them. Each kit I re-issued was done with the design style merit I applied to it.

I also added certain modifications to the design to improve the construction ease. One was to create the stepped in wall joint where you set the one wall 1/32---1/16 inwards so you did not have a long joint seam where they came together.

The market for these re-issues was basically limited to 22--30 units of each. So after the loading up of the market with my releases 2006---2012 . Where is there any possible demand left.????

While an eBay sale would be illogical for a buyer, it certainly does open the possible for much larger exposure of the business than word of mouth, or in some cases here word of bad mouth, to potential buyers that might take it as a lead to continue off line negotiations.
