Wow where has August gone, the 21st already. Thanks Rick for getting us going and the drinks. The movie yesterday was: Blinded by the Light. A true movie about a British Pakistani teenager and his angst about growing up in Britain in the 80ís. He used Bruce Springsteenís music to help him grow. Of course there is the usual family dramas about growing and of course the happy ending. The music clips are great and even better if you are a Boss fan that I am not. A ok movie but also the 1st half is very slow, the last half did fly by.

Travel day and a no computer day starts when Terry wakes in about an hour. We are off to Green Bay, the Packer Hall of Fame, the National Train Museum and its Big Boy and GG1 among a few of the things we want to do. It is boring here as it has been too hot to do our normal summer travels and Austin is still too hot for us, 101 yesterday. So with highs of around 80 the next few days we are off. Enjoy your days.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee.

Still hot.

Headed to Lorrie and Leo Palitti's today for an operating session with my uncle. Uncle Larry is 90 and is responsible for my love of trains. We visited BB&B before, but today we operate. https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Community/Black-Bear-and-Bayou-Railroad-473276589416021/

Have fun,
Mike

Well right now in South Jersey were at a perfect sunny/73. Later on more of the 90's and humid!
Next week we are suppose to have a week of high 70's that would rally be nice.

Grandkids are leaving this morning.

Later on beach time. Nothing from the train room.

Everyone have a great day!!

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee.

The operating session at the Palitti's was a blast. My Uncle and I teamed as conductor and engineer for a passenger train and a switching freight. It was my first time in about 25 years to use Car Cards. What a hoot.

Still hot.

Have fun,
Mike

Good morning from So. Wisconsin. The trip to Green Bay and the Packer Hall of Fame is still IMO better then the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton. However, the National Train Museum was great. Went into the cab of Big Boy #4017 that the Museum supposedly refused the UP offer to buy and instead they went with 4014. The cab of a Big Boy is 12íx12í and seats 4. Quite a story and a great display. The GG1 was parked indoors next to the Big Boy and while very big, seemed small next to it. A nice museum, lots of steam locomotives.

Everyone have a great day

Hi folks,
Still morning out here in the West, but I will have some of that coffee! Thanks, Jerry.
Cloudy with rain despite rain not being in the forecast - thanks Weather Network!
Youngest daughter's 19th on Sunday. Age of majority here. Not a drinker or partier (yay) so it's going to be a family bbq in the backyard. ONe more week until the long weekend and a short motorcycle trip with my son.
Cheers,
Dave

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for coffee.

The Wizard of Oz was fantastic. Casting, costumes and voices were amazing.

Jerry, decisions...but fun ones. Anything in the train room sounds like fun.

We had a surprise thunderstorm last evening with power out for five hours. Rain is good.

Cool here today at 95F. Monday's forecast is for 105F. August!

Have fun,
Mike

Good So.Wisconsin Central time zone morning. As we headed out the door to the Farmer Markets Terry tells me check the front bathroom. So, between the garage door opener yesterday and the plumbing job this afternoon I am frazzled. Canít fix the opener myself and the door people will be here on Monday. PlumberTom replaced the handle mechanism and the bathroom is fixed. (5 minutes) I unfortunately had to decline the horse ride that everyone is currently on!

Relaxing now until they return from the ride and then we have the grandkids this afternoon, we will travel the mile to their house for bedtime. Daughter and her hubby have a house warming late afternoon and evening.

Tom
