Bob,

I just thought I'd throw in my two cents on the pelican visitor. They're a neat looking bird.
The gulls will look great. What are you carving to make the gulls?
I liked your pelican ditty but this is the first I've seen it...

The build is coming along and really looking good!

Dave

Thanks Dave,

Here is the bell (turned from resin), in the bell cage (styrene), two lifting eyes (cut from
styrene sheet), and two clean-out hatches (hatches turned from resin, hatch covers are
sheet styrene with embossed bolt heads).

Bob, if you add a candle lit lantern here you would have "Bell, Buoy & Candle"...wait, that would be "Bell, Book & Candle" and that would be for the bookstore...Nevermind.
It's looking really good! Is there a waterway on the LP&N?

Dave and Bill, thanks for your posts.

Bill, yes, but only one little corner of it shows.

Remember this?

I bought a real nice red LED that was made just for model beacon lights, instead of blinking it has a
nice slow on-off-on-off etc. The cap is turned from resin.

Getting close to paint shop time.

Bob, looks like your buoy will be bobbing in the water in no time!
Nice work once again.

Bob, OH! Yes. How did I forget the Sabino? The prototype went back into service at the Seaport a couple days ago on July 23rd after about two years of work including a new boiler.

Thanks for your pots Greg and Bill.

Dave, sorry, I just noticed that I did not answer your question about the seagulls. I am carving
them from a material caller RENSHAPE.

Thanks Ted.

Here's all the parts together, Next stop is the paint shop. The bell will have to be painted and
installed after the main model is sprayed.

Ted, not land but instead styrene!

Bob, looking forward to seeing what colour you choose to paint your buoy.

Dave and Greg, thanks for your comments.

Here's the buoy so far, I masked the LED and then gave it two coats of gloss red. When that dried I
applied the number decals from my scrap file. Then it was sprayed with a coat of clear semi-gloss to
cut down on it's toy-like glossy look. The bell was painted black and then dry-brushed with two shades
of whitish-blueish-greenish color like old weathered bronze.

Next will be a little bit of weathering and back to work on those seagulls.

Bob
