where to start? Excellent work everywhere. The brewery came out fabulous. Loved the band out front and the ducks in the water tank. So too with the Yorke kit. Your stone work is beautifully colored. Track work is first rate too but is hard to photograph isn't it.

[quote="Graffen"]Some more progress on my layout.
The tracks are getting ready to be ballasted. #128512;
I'll use crushed chamotte that I'll stain to the colors I like.
Just have to do some painting first.... And add feeder wires where needed.

Beautiful trackwork, Michael. Your locomotive made a nice smooth run through those dual gauge turnouts.

These are some neat models! I especially like the coloring on the gon and the roof on that enginehouse/car shed. And the underbody details on the freight cars. Very nice!

I just started on a LaBelle HOn3 boxcar kit.

I have just a few more details to add before painting it.

I even added the locking planks on the turnbuckles.

I like these kits!

Painted and decaled my latest boxcar.
I had a little mishap... I was going to add the handbrake chain, and I took a piece out of the box and soldered it in place.
Then I realized that it was the wrong kind of link!
I had taken a piece of an old gold chain....
Well, it is probably worth more than the kit...

The decals are dry transfers from Woodland scenics and some old ones I had in a box.

Started the weathering. I begin by painting flaked paint, i.e. paint on grayish wood color.

The markings are for one of my mines on my layout; the Yvon Gold Mining company. Named after my late mother.
Because there is genuine gold on the car, it suits it well. My mother would had loved this one.

Michael,

Very fine modeling. I agree with you that the LaBelle kits are s lot of fun.

I've started on the landscaping.

I made a stone wall and sculpted a plaster rock along the embankment.

The road is sculptamold for now.

It's real fun to get some nature on the layout.

I've started on the ballasting.

I use Chamotte clay that I glue with Mod Podge matte diluted with water and a drop of detergent.
I add acrylic paint to the mix before applying it on the ballast.

I think it looks quite good.
