Looks like no activity in the forum to do this since 2011-2012. Is it officially dead?

Lying in state. Interest in the interchange concept ebbed the last time it was done and Bruce, et al, gave it a 'time out'

My grandson's middle name! "Time Out". (Also a Dave Brubeck jazz classic album)

Earlier this year I ran a traveling hopper car circulating on 'modelersforum' on my layout, but there have been a couple of hiatuses in its activity.

We could give it another try if there are enough members interested in the same scale. Up till now, the exchange was in HO.

Bruce,
How about a call for volunteers, with a January commencement as before?
By then I should have actual railroad on which to play!

Mike, that size USPS box is in fact what I shipped Tom Langford's HO scale 50 ton hopper in after it completed its run. It arrived OK, but the 1 5/8" depth is tight - I'd worry about a car with separate grabs.

Postage cost and delays in moving traffic along were issues the last time.

I would love to give it another try, the thread was very interesting to watch unfold.

I would love to see the interchange come back. I enjoyed my time participating in it. My layout came down near the end of the last interchange but I'm in the process of planning a new one. Only problem, I'm pretty sure this layout will be N. Maybe we could see if there is any interest in an N scale interchange?
Dave
P.S. I'm pretty sure Turtle & Preacher can be resurrected in N scale!!!

I thought Preacher and Turtle were firmly in the State slam in Warren. Did they go over (or under) the wall?

Pete - they broke out a few months ago and are in hiding in the Maine North Woods - waiting for a train to hop.
