Well it's time for an update on the gondola. I've been slowly working on it so here we go.
I put together a pile of shell crates that I got out of the "WWII German Tank Crew Field Maintenance Set" (by Tamiya) and glued them into a stack that will fir in the gondola.
I then put together some machine gun shell cases that I got from a "WWI Austro-Uungarian Infantry Weapon and Equipment" (by ICM) Although it is 1:35 scale I think it will work. I was hoping to use the machine guns from this kit but they proved to be too big.
The machine guns painted and ready to be installed. These were taken from the "WWII Russian Infantry & Tank Crew Set" (by Tamiya)
The shell cases painted. The open box on top will have a couple of shells in it.
The gondola itself all painted and almost ready for the fire power.
Next up will be weathering the components and putting it all together.

After all this time I found a source for really inexpensive guns in close to 1/48 scale. They measure at 1/43 scale which is what a lot of vehicles we use are.
